It's even more impressive that she's hitting #1 with a 40 yo song, what's this stupid talk in here? :coffee2:

Talent finally won :clap3:  Congrats to Kate!

Also, the best dance song of the year is now top 5 :clap3:   a great week in the charts

You mean the LF System Afraid To Feel? This song was a total bop :clap3:

Oh yeah the original sample was pretty good as well.

It is technically true, but the "record" is not impressive. Gen Z wouldn't be streaming RUTH if that song was recorded by a 63-year-old woman. Smashing in the 50s like Cher is definitely more impressive, which is why she continues to hold that record in my book.

You can write an official complaint If that makes you feel better. Write the Queen or the Prime Minister if you like.

Not really. The song was already a major hit. Smashing with a new in your 50s would be far more impressive, which is what Cher did.

It‘a bigger now than on it’s original release. It’s impressive. If Believe went number 1 now, I feel you would be saying different.

Cher's achievement is more impressive because she recorded and released the song as a 52 year old woman, but this is absolutely historic nonetheless :clap3:

Congrats to Kate! She deserved this! Hope she snatches #1 in USA when Stranger Things’ season finale finally it is released!

Not really. Believe is a terrible generic dance song. RUTH sounds nothing like anything on the radio at the moment so its even more impressive it got enough streams to be #1.

A bit unfair for Cher since Believe was a brand new song released at 52 without the help of a popular tv show. Nonetheless, congrats to Kate.

Cher tweeted Congratulations to Kate Bush

After almost 24 years, Cher still has the achievement of changing music with Believe- the use of  autotune - the Cher Effect is still being used today.

Incredible, but I would probably count the age she was when she recorded it for this type of thing.
