DoubleRainbow! Posted June 15, 2022 Posted June 15, 2022 No, because I still live with my parents. But yeah, I wish I earned more money

I cut out expenses like Netflix, going out to eat, avocados, onlyfans, Hulu, etc. Just have to live below your means and work harder. It’s all about the grind. Try starting your own business. What do you do for entertainment? Do you pirate?

What jobs are you working?

I work in accounting for a clothing company based in the US and I am a search rater at Telus. The latter pays me up to USD 500 ish a month for rating search results, a good complement for anyone looking for a side gig without leaving your house. They are always hiring too. The Closer Posted June 16, 2022 Posted June 16, 2022 Not really, no. My SO and I are great at splitting everything 50/50 and have a combined income of about $160k/year. We don’t have any kids, 2 dogs, and invest a lot of our money. We both contribute 10%+ to our 401ks, max out our IRA contributions, own (have a mortgage) on a house that we rent out and make some side money on. I also just dropped $10k in a series I bond today I can tell that everything has gotten a little more expensive, but it hasn’t really hit us harshly. We take a lot of vacations (week long Caribbean cruise in March, Vegas last month, Denver this weekend, 2 week Mediterranean cruise in September), bunch of concerts. I’ve just always been able to make a dollar stretch somehow because we splurge on what we want and pinch pennies on other stuff.
Robert Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 I’m not struggling per se but certainly feeling the increase in prices and staying at home more now rather than eating/going out.I don’t drive so that saves a lot of money.
Starfish Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 I still live with my parents but kinda yeah. Being the member of a satanist cult doesn't pay as well as it ought.

LCTV Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 I think I'm struggling more mentally with the constant cycle of NEEDING to almost/hit 40 hrs a week at my job just to end up stagnant.

Daydream Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Not really, I’m just about managing. I did get a 5% rise to my salary which takes effect from this month, so I’m looking forward to seeing my pay check at the end of the month. I wish it was more but eh I’ll take what I can get. A couple months ago I reviewed my bank statements and broke down everything, then reviewed what I ought to cancel or what I could find better prices on. Things like energy/service providers, I shopped around and realised I could find better deals. And subscriptions I don’t even use but was paying for every month, cancelled them. Honestly, if you can, do this and you’ll be surprised what you can save.
