diamondsky Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Wow… I dunno what to expect. The concept has amazing potential but totally depends on how they execute it. Could either be incredible or a total mess. 1 hour ago, Mr. Stratus said: Oooh I love the musical idea, superhero movies have become so stale and the first Joker really set itself apart from other superhero movies so it's important to keep that alive here. It needs to be something crazy - I mean it's in the title! Folie literally means madness. Also we don't know what "musical" really means as there are many ways to do a musical, but I hope it's like in Chicago where the musical numbers are in their heads when they have a break from reality. Perfectly fits the theme of the movie. Also Margot's movie bombed despite being released pre-covid. Aint nobody here for that except gay twitter so they can use sassy gifs from it. I love this take! Like the musical moments would be kind of manic and delusional 1 hour ago, HabbGaga said: the only dark horror type musical ive seen is rocky horror picture show and that was a classic. this is really exciting. the fact that shes worked w bradley cooper, adam driver and now joaquin phoenix in her first 3 movies I also thought of RHPS lol. Maybe she’ll serve a cult classic
Khal Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Considering the demographic of the 1st movie, making a musical sequel seems like such a out there, batshit idea, I'm actually curious as to how this will turn out, Seems like a potential hot mess
toanythingtaboo Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 The musical element is definitely an unexpected twist, but it's kind of funny how unimaginative folk are with anything out of the box. It's a Joker film. It's obviously not going to be a straight musical. It'll likely be an unhinged fever dream of one. Probably (if she's playing HQ) playing on the innocence/infatuation of a romance story...juxtaposed with the twisted darkness that their relationship has. Like, what if the musical elements are being used to dramatise how HQ views the relationship in her own form of psychosis? A bit like Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd or Audrey in Little Shop.

mystery Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 This sounds amazing and horrible at the same time. Love the chaotic vibe of the idea.
jesus del rey Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 I am looking forward to Gaga’s interviews, I know they are gonna be a hot mess
Ego Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 I was SO on board with this until I read that it’s a musical, now I’m a bit skeptical tbh. If it works out it’s gonna be great, but if not…
TROPICUM Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 (edited) I've been laughing for half an hour now seeing the reaction on social media... The straightest-incel type movie with the most insufferable incel fanbase in the history of cinema, getting a sequel that's not only a musical but stars alongside probably the biggest LGBTQ+ pop singer of this century. Literally a whole 360º. I love this. It's so camp and unexpected, not sure how they'll characterize Gaga into Harley but I'm perched! Edited June 14, 2022 by TROPICUM

Solaria Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Thought a musical meant theater for a second and I got really excited that Gaga could win a Tony
TMRA Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Jokr 2 a musical starring Lady Gaga? This sounds too bizzare to be made up, im here for it

Kavish Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 I'm not sure how and why Joker 2 will be a musical. The first one had a serious tone and was a psychological masterpiece. I'll just have to trust the director on this one. Also if it's a musical, then it makes sense to cast Lady Gaga given her accolades in A Star is Born.

Hephaestus Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 I think people are reading too much into the "musical" thing. I expect it to be some kind of delusions the character(s) are making up or something like that. Also Joaquin would've never accepted if he didn't like the script. I wouldn't normally see Gaga for the Harley role (she'd probably be more fitting as a comic accurate as Poison Ivy or Punchline), but I think she'd do great for the version of the characters Todd is going for in his version of Gotham. After ASIB doing amazing and Gaga doing great in HOG, this is actually a perfect next step for her acting career since it basically merges the best of the previous two experiences. I'm perched and I hope it does well, both for DC and Gaga. I also need her to snatch a role in the MCU!
AlexStexaul Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 gaga as hq gives me gaga ft blackpink sour candy vibes and i’m loving it
Alak96 Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 (edited) More "I have been a Harley Quinn fan since I was 13..." mess incoming So perched Edited June 14, 2022 by Alak96
Lover Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 THE queen of Pop auditioned last year but sadly ageism is still a thing. so congrats to gaga
Shinning Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 This is kinda the perfect role for her no? And the press tour shenanigans she and Joaquin will take part in, competing to be the one with the craziest method acting stories
