DiamondHoe Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Erotica. By eons. it’s an excellent album, one of the best ever. Not to mention it was incredibly brave for the time (and now) and truly has something to say. janet. is cute but far too bloated and stock full of filler. I always kii at one of the last interludes being called “Are You Still Up?” like b*tch no I’m genuinely not it’s also a very watered down erotica. Thematically and musically. Like compare TTWLG to Erotica, or Again to Rain that said, Throb is an excellent song.

Never Ending Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Love both albums, but I prefer Erotica's highs and lows over janet.'s
Lead Cenobite Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Ugh, I love both these albums. Truly opuses from both my faves but I give Erotica the edge. Though I see them as companion pieces to one another.
GoodGuyGoneGhetto Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 (edited) janet. and it’s not even close. @Chris can continue stanning that garbage. Spoiler Stream “Bedtime Stories”. Her greatest and most creative album that is also severely underrated. Edited June 7, 2022 by GoodGuyGoneGhetto
UseYourIllusion2002 Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Erotica by a lot, but it's my favorite Madonna album so it'd probably win by a landslide for me compared to any album. But "Because of Love" is sooo underrated, I love that song. 2 hours ago, allforyou said: Not really, there's only a 7 month difference between Erotica and janet. meanwhile there's a 17 month difference between janet. and Bedtime Stories Yeah exactly and both are extremely sexual, while Bedtime Stories is the opposite minus Human Nature, which is her response to the Erotica backlash anyways.

Yea, because Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, two of the foremost premier music producers in the 1980’s and 1990’s, and of whom spearheaded an entire musical genre that would dominate the Pop/R&B airwaves circa 1987-1992, all of a sudden decided to turn to Madonna and Erotica’s producers (Shep Pettibone) and thought “this is what we want Ms. Jackson’s new record to sound like”. If you don’t know nor understand music then just that say that.
LikeaRebel Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 I know janet. is highly regarded but it’s one of my least favorite Janet albums. Meanwhile Erotica is one of my favorites by Madonna so… this is an easy choice.
GlamSlam Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 I mean, I enjoy some of the Janet album, but it gets boring in the second half, especially after "Where Are You Now". I don't get bored with Erotica at all, even it's worst songs ie: "In This Life" and "Secret Garden" are quite good.
besaid Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Both albums are amazing. Bedtime Stories and The Velvet Rope are also both A+ records from them. 90s Janet and 90s Madonna are the best.
HandsomeGumDrop Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 janet. Is one of the biggest selling albums of the 90's that album is way better than Erotica and janet. was so new for Janet I always say Rhythm Nation 1814 - janet. is the greatest album transition in pop culture how you go from album about equality, world peace, injustice etc to a sexy, sensual, seductive, feminine album just like that? Erotica is Madonna most sexual album but not better than janet.
October Symphony Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Erawtica, It has Class to it. it was more sexually expressive, more experimental, more mature and explicit.
sugarysunflower Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Erotica. But only cos of the damned Janet interludes. Virgin should’ve known better nobody wanna hear some goddamn ‘Wind’ and ‘Rain’ when it’s free outside. ============ im being sarcastic , I can’t choose. I use them for different moods; janet when it’s a breezy summer Sunday stroll in Sloane Square, erotica when it’s dusk in Central Park on a Friday night.

Mr. Check Yourself Posted September 18 Posted September 18 People need to stop saying the janet. album was influenced by the Erotica album which is very false the janet. album was recorded in 1992 the same year Erotica was released and Janet already was beginning her sexual phase starting from the Love Will Never Do (Without You) video on top of the janet. album was a great transition from the Rhythm Nation 1814 album and for Janet reinventing herself the only thing the janet. album and Erotica album have in common is they both are very sexual albums by each artist their most sexual albums and happened to be each of their 5th albums.
