I took acutane when I was younger since I had bad skin, and now my skin is generally fine. However, my nose and the area around it gets rather oily. But I wanna do something to make those pores get smaller and make my skin look more smooth I think products with BHA and niacinamide work best for your concerns

fauxtography Posted June 4, 2022 Author Posted June 4, 2022 So y’all do a routine in the morning too? I don’t think I have time for a full routine before work, but I heard Micellar water and moisturizer is fine?

Cleansing and moisturiser is optional in the morning. the non negotiable step in the morning is sunscreen! It is non negotiable because the sun will undo any progress you get from the treatments you do at night. Find one that has a nice texture and finish so that you will be motivated to use enough (you need 1/4 tsp for face and 1/4 tsp for neck to obtain the labelled spf ). If you will be spending >2 hours outside, you will need to reapply. a lot of sunscreens have moisturising properties too, so it can also act as your daytime moisturiser. if you have the budget, you can add an antioxidant serum (I.e. vitamin C , niacinamide) to apply before the sunscreen. Whilst sunscreen will protect you from UV rays, the antioxidants will protect from pollution, etc. Edited June 5, 2022 by Jump
MadonnasBoyfriend Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 I use this imitation accutane called acnetame i got from amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G198LSW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I never been to a derm and had body acne . it works! this really helped so much. My skin gets greasy and oily fast well it used to before this now it never gets greasy. No complaints. i also use diffren gel and they make a body scrub now so that covers it. Id like to try some toners i guess that helps with the color? lol

ConceptD Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Literally just micellar water most nights and a matte moisturiser if I feel like it.
Starshine Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 (edited) AM: cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen PM: cleanser, moisturizer, tretinoin cleanser: Soy pH-Balanced Hydrating Face Wash moisturizer: Clinique lotion, I'm also testing out beef tallow rn bc I have eczema sunscreen: ROUND LAB Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream, korean/japanese sunscreens are just superior I also incorporate AHAs sometimes when im not lazy. everything else is a scam. ive been experimenting with skincare products for a decade and used to do the korean 500 steps routine only to breakout and disrupt my skin barrier less is more tbh and everyone will have different products that will work for them. also get a shower filter. Ibrahim Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 (edited) Very simple: PM: Mist with Neutrogena light sesame oil to dry skin (if I've used sunscreen) Follow up with a cream cleanser (CeraVe is good) Peptide/Hyaluronic Acid serum (from The Ordinary) Retinol (I use Adapalene) IGoToSleep AM: Don't need to wash since my skin is clean and looks well moisturized Peptide/Hyaluronic Acid serum Alternate between caffeine/Vitamin C depending on my skin sensitivity (no Vit C if I feel like it's irritated) When dry, add CeraVe Daily Cream Moisturizer Top off with a good 60SPF sunscreen of your choice If I do wash my face in the morning for whatever reason: Cream cleanser Salicylic Acid rinse Peptide/Hyaluronic Acid serum (from The Ordinary) When dry, add CeraVe Daily Cream Moisturizer Top off with a good 60SPF sunscreen of your choice I hesitate to recommend sunscreens because people be recommending stuff that has "no cast" but makes me look like a ghost. Plus, I get really bad reactions from some sunscreens, especially if it gets in my eyes. So it's really hit or miss depending on how your skin responds to it. People swear up and down with La Roche Posay's Anthelios melt-in in milk sunscreens having no cast but even with my olive skin tone, it does NOT become "invisible". It's very white sheen, very ashy look. One sunscreen that does work for me and doesn't leave a cast (but does brighten my skin tone in a more natural way) is Walmart's Equate Baby 60SPF sunscreen. I could slather on a whole bunch, let it try, then massage in any thicker sections and my skin looks natural if a bit dewy. I've been dying to dry the UVMune from LRP but you can't get it here unless you import. Hada Labo has a nice "milky" sunscreen that's PA++++ that also disappears into your skin but the prices doubled ever since it was discovered by influencers so I can't afford that as my daily anymore. Oil of Olay has a nice Zinc Oxide sunscreen that leaves very little cast if you use a single layer but considering it's Zinc Oxide, it's an inferior filter and you really should be layering it on a few times to get the best protection. Doing so does leave a little white cast though. I've tried Neutrogena's 60SPF tinted daily defense serum this past weekend and it migrated to my eyes and made the day unbearable because I had to wait until I had an opportunity to wash it off. Made my nose run, my eyes red, and just an overall terrible reaction to it. Edited June 7, 2022 by Ibrahim
Burqaswag Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 AM: 1. Cleansing my face with water 2. 3 drops of vitamin C Serum 3. Sunscreen PM: 1. Oil/Balm Cleanser 2. Water based cleanser 3. Active (i switch everyday): - BHA (1x/week) - Tretinoin (1x/week) - AHA Cleanser (1x/week) - Azealic acid serum (2x/week) - Niacinamide (1x/week) 4. Moisturizer
Better Mistakes Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 (edited) I used to buy the body shop vitamin C cream and then i discovered a UK supermarket offers the exact same product for £2.50 They also do it in a serum that works fantastically as well. I usually apply the serum in the evening when it's cooler weather I keep it simple with just vitamin C products, a facial scrub and I get compliments saying that I have a nice glow/ smooth skin ASDA Brightening Vitamin C Glow Gel Moisturiser - ASDA Groceries Edited June 18, 2022 by Better Mistakes
sober Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 I would really want to know someone's experience with this vitamin C: I've heard only good things about it here in my country but is it really worth it? are there more effective ones? Plus, do whitening sheet masks really make a difference? I'd like recommendations if possible.
Jagger Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 I used to use sooo many products but it never helped my breakouts + it would make my face so red and irritated now I just use: Erno Laszlo soap twice a day (morning and night) Shiseido overnight white lucent cream (idk if this even does anything but I like how it feels on my face and cools it down) Erno Laszlo pore cleansing clay mask once a week I had to stop using moisturizer because my face is oily to begin with and it just made it worse. What I've learned is that less is more sometimes. I basically only use two products daily and my skin has never looked better
