Lady Claire Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 The album is not that bad but won't do anything for her career and she indeed picked the right songs as singles I think i like H&H way more than this. Should just release the album with The Motto as a bonus and move on to the next

mystery Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 Diamonds & Dancefloors is definitely an improvement on Heaven & Hell, it feels like a better rounded album when it comes to its tracklist. I don't think it has a song as bad as So Am I. She leaned on more elements that I liked from the last album with this being a bit darker and leaning more on synths and electric guitar. I love the guitar solo in Sleepwalker . I think she should lean even more into a 80s rock karaoke'd sound, a lot of boomers I know love Kings & Queens and when asked about her mention that as an aspect that appeals to them. It is definitely a blueprint that would work for her, along with her and her team focusing more on the European market and the potential she has to develop a stronghold on radio here. Full thoughts by track & ranking: 1. Turn Off the Lights - love the verses and the prechorus, the drop is a bit generic but I like the distorted production, a bop 2. Sleepwalker - fun 80s rock sound that she excels at, great guitar solo 3. Hold Up (Wait a Minute) - fun and memorable, could see it doing something on TikTok, not the best lyrics but the production is amazing 4. Cold as Ice - great 80s leaning synth and melody, this one feels like she is playing a with her delivery of the lyrics 5. Last Night on Earth - I adore how big it sounds and the apocalyptic theme 6. Ghost - a clean cut bop 7. Million Dollar Baby - wasn't that fond of it on release but it is catchy and a grower 8. Maybe You're The Problem - more in the middle ground of the album, it is maybe a bit too bright sounding compared to other songs 9. Weapons - it actually has some single potential, it is catchy, not a favourite though - 10. Dancing's Done - cool closer for the album, not a big standout 11. Get Outta My Heart - it tries to be the big bop of the album and I get what they were going for but the chopped vocal doesn't work for me at all 12. One of Us - filler, lacking substance but the production uplifts it over the last two, nice outro - 13. Diamonds & Dancefloors - extremely basic singy songy melody, hate it 14. In the Dark - repetitive filler, the outro is okay but overall it does nothing for me

Schami66 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 How does this compare to Heaven & Hell? Is it better? Just as good? Not as good?

GardenPanty Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 They should've delayed the album to record better songs and obviously Ava would benefit from that too, none of these songs sound like hits. We need The Motto tacked at the end

Mke1979 Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 I usually feel bad when artists albums leak before release date but with Ava Max and her team - I don't. Not when the album was ready to go and just because her first two singles didnt make the impact they wanted. They push it back over 3 months. Not a good look for her, her team and fans. They get what they give. Karma!

Bryan Spears Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 See what happens when you're desperate for a hit but don't care about your career at the same time Lets see if they decide to change it again to the first week of Nov before Holiday music dominates
