Just checked and it went Top 5 in the UK. Meanwhile D&D made 0 noise everywhere so I fear Anne's situation is better

Another question is why did Atlantic even green light this release is truly every single pre release made no noise ?? If it’s to help her build a fan base then yeah absolutely let the girl go on tour then

This post-release era is so dry I'm BEGGING for another Roblox concert like the one they did after H&H dropped... ANYTHING please just give us ANYTHING

Well, my signed CD came in and the plastic case was CRACKED! I appreciate how the signed art card was tucked carefully in the case and there was a plastic sleeve, however it seems all these efforts did nothing to protect the CD case, as when I opened it one of the plastic pieces holding the booklet in was broken as well  and the worst part is I don’t want to ask her shop for a new one bc I fear she needs to keep every coin she can get at this point

They did almost nothing for album release week what makes you think they have something planned

xMGRrxt.gif

the fact that she did more fun stuff for the MYTP release and not for an entire album. For example where is the genius interview IDK she didn’t even perform at Kelly.

This absolutely trainwreck of a pop act. You would think she would display at least a morsel of drive for this pathetic, pitiful career of hers since she's always mouthing off about how it took years and years for her to "make it" (make it to what exactly?) in the industry. I don't think there is a more lazy, directionless, unimaginative woman in pop music right now. It's tragic when you think about it. She has everything she needs to be an it girl, the looks, the voice, the label, the management, and yet here she is quieter than a church mouse right after her sophomore album dropped. Ava, are you telling me you worked years to sit on your ass and just let opportunity after opportunity pass you by? It's time to be serious Ava. We all jumped and cheered when you left that cavern-holed poor excuse of a manager Tom Skogs and moved over to Scooter and Allison, and yet here we are experiencing DeJa'Vu. Utter silence. Can't even bother to drop a single visualizer, no tour announcement in sight, deluxe is probably scrapped into the void with Heaven & Hell deluxe. I mean it's just flop after flop after FLOP AFTER FLOP. Oh, but let's book every khia'd pride event because that's gonna get another popper'd 30 y/o gay man on our side, right? I would say the worms in her brain are feasting but clearly there's not a brain to be feasted upon. Meanwhile Kim Petras walked away from the Grammy's with an award in her hand. Ava, if you're content with #34 (which I promise isn't a lucky number just like #27 isn't a lucky number) just go ahead and lock yourself out of the studio and go back to working curling iron kiosks when that Sweet But Psycho money eventually runs out. Enjoy being washed up, derivative, and OVER.

The way everything you said is so true  :rip:

I mean, you would think she could get a top 10 or a LEAST a top 20 position on fanbase alone, since even Charli managed to do it with Crash.

Charli had SNL performance, AppleMusic interview, etc. Ava had almost no promo.

Embarrassing post. Imagine being so obsessed with success and stats that it forms your opinion on the music itself. I wasn't a huge fan of her first album, but D&D is clearly a solid, well produced pop record with some amazing hooks and melodies. Success is not everything - what matters is that she's releasing quality music that her fans clearly enjoy. And the album isn't even flopping THAT badly, it reached top 40 in the US and Australia, almost went top 10 in the UK + got some decent peaks around the world (mostly inside the top 50).

What is important is that there's a big upgrade in the music's quality from her previous album. The project doesn't have to be an instant commercial smash to be enjoyed by the decent amount of people, well unless you're a typical ATRL gay who's painfully obsessed with numbers  :matty:

You’re missing the entire point here.

Charts and Ava Max don’t exactly exist within congruent realms so why fuss over charts? We’re fussing over her complete lack of work ethic and drive. Who releases their highly anticipated sophomore album then spends the following weeks performing all of three shows (one of which she’s sick and doesn’t even actually perform) and reposting her cupcakes on Instagram?

The absolute least her team could do, noticing her lack of action, is post the visualizers so fans have at least something to keep their interest and yet here we are.

Notice how there’s 174 pages for this album? I’d say at least a third of that is her fans fuming over how absurd this era is.

You spilled. I surprisingly ended  up liking her music recently but she seems to have no drive or passion to promote the work she says she loves. It's hard to become a fan of someone that doesn't seem to care

SHOW ME HOW TO LOOOOOOVE

Sleepwalker and Last Night on Earth are creeping their way to the top of my ranking

This album is a perfect escapist pop paradise. I think my favourite of the new songs are Ghost and Hold Up (Wait a Minute), but I'd have difficulty ranking all of the songs because I enjoy them all.

I do hope we get the visualizers soon!

I think why fans are so frustrated is because the album really is good.  It’s such an easy listen, I can listen to any song at any time and be happy with it.

So this era really did have so much potential.  Even without going overboard, we could have gotten lyric videos for the new songs, an official MV for Ghost along with a better push, a Spotify/AM interview, and a televised performance.  Ava could be hosting contests on TikTok and Instagram for her fans to make choreography for her new songs, or do IG lives and just talk about her album plans.  A tour could have been announced by now, or at least officially teased.  But we really got the album and a Kelly interview and some gay bar appearances and that’s about it

I mean it’s not like the era is done, at least we don’t know that for sure yet. Let’s just hope we get a few more things

I’m not sure why an “artist” so incredibly harmless causes such a negative feeling in me but I just can’t with this girl. Something is super off. Maybe I just don’t get. First of all, it’s very clear Ava is a singer, not an artist and that is fine. Plenty of pop girls are. But still…

This album isn’t bad. It’s not very good, but it’s not bad. Yet something just feels so incredibly disingenuous and almost not real. It feels AI generated, just like her debut. There are cute melodies and production moments here and there but EVERY single thing feels derivative and disingenuous. The Weeknd and Dua pastiche and plenty trendy little samples galore.

Zero personality anywhere. Not on the album, not on social media, not in interviews, not in the lyrics, not in the performances. Obviously she’s a serviceable singer but something is just missing. Ava feels like a 2012 major labels wet dream. The safest artist ever imaginable. Zero scandal, easily digestible, charming at best, extremely bland and anonymous at worst. Anne Marie, Bebe Rexha, Zara Larson, Mabel type “pop girl” but somehow even less genuine.

The stupid ****** haircut, the way she speaks about “heartbreak on the dancefloor” as if it’s a groundbreaking concept, let alone a concept at all, her behavior during this release… something is very off. It feels like the poor girl has a gun to her head at all times. I’m not a hater, I just can’t wrap my head around this girl. But she infatuates me… clearly :chick1: so I’ll give her that.

this is your fifth post on ATRL. You have ava in your username. I would like to see u manage her career because I'm sure we'd be just so fed because you know exactly what to do huh! We all know this era hasn't been handled well especially by atlantic (and after her main mgmt within atlantic left atlantic it took some recovery to get a better team) No need to go on a paragraph rant about how all you care about is charts, we know gays are obsessed and don't care about quality! She confirmed the deluxe is coming in multiple interviews already as well as a new MV she's shooting based on FAN preference, and a collab w a huge male star soon. Maybe if yall actually cared about her as a person and didn't treat her like some GP (gay ppl) pleasing machine, and listened to the interviews and the album you would appreciate it and this era for what it's worth. go spread ur negativity somewhere else pls! #PromoteOnlineKindness

I find it funny that she’s giving these clearly false statements about changing the album cover, how the album was leaked, why the album was delayed…

I’ve been playing this album to death since the original release date but I’m just skeptical about investing further into Ava Max. I’m not gonna be shocked or disappointed if a deluxe version gets shelved or if the tour never gets announced.

I truly think this is all Atlantic media training because we all know that she knows that's not true. I think they're trying to make everything appear as the era is less messy than they've made it so far-  I don't have any other explanation. The fact that atlantic didn't think about the "tweaking the album in small ways" statement to account for the delay is crazy, because there is factual proof that's not true from the early production of physicals with 2022 copyrights on them. (also probably covering their tracks for the fact that the album was shipped out before the original release date on vinyl, causing the album to leak, which had to have been their fault somehow).

All she needs to do is WANT stardom, and that’s something she needs to accept comes with the territory in her chosen career path. You don’t go into the Hollywood music industry wanting one half of the package deal. “I don’t like the fame.” Ok and? The fact of the matter is that her dedicated fans are tired of her lack of ambition when she has more potential than dozens of her peers in music. It’s an ongoing 5 year frustration that shows no signs of ending.

She said in a recent interview charts don't really matter to her unless she see's the song is charting well from her fans on twitter. I truly don't think Ava cares for stardom, if that was the case she would be there by now i'm sure. She has even said recently in said interview that she is in a great spot with her team and can release music whenever she wants now. I'm sure Atlantic wants some form of this for her but they aren't helping in any way to move her up to that point in any direction whatsoever (0 promo, messiness of era) so I don't understand the logic of what you're saying.. It's not like she can think "oh yes I want to be more famous and have more chart toppers" and immediately it will start happening for her?? What exactly do you want her to do besides being more active on socials? I'm sure Ava wants her album to be doing better than it is now on the charts and heard by more people because who wouldn't. Nobody knows except her, but I think she wants to have fun- making fun pop music for her fans and that's enough to her honestly, ever since her pop radio decline after the success of H&H.
