SinnerCity Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 If anyone here is a tarot reader like myself and a Buffy fan, well, look what I came across https://a.co/d/95ADGXB Based on the Rider Waite tarot, we've got our very own Buffy tarot deck.

Buffy's friends had problematic moments way before Spike's character development, especially Xander.
fridayteenage Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 people generally agree they cliffdived during season 6 when spike became buffy's obsession - willow with her whole magic addiction + murder, xander with the wedding dump.
rcksluke Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Angelus is so mean. My poor baby Buffy! (Watching 2x14 rn)

Buffy Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 It’s really a shame Eliza Dushku turned down the Faith the Vampire Slayer series. It would’ve been so awesome….

Gorjesspazze9 Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 A Faith series could have been even better than Angel. Whereas Buffy was mainly about Highschool Metaphors with Demons. Angel for the workforce & Supernatural. Faith Could have been a more humane series about Faith’s redemption. Like start season 1 with her in prison during the Angel timeline, and have a her post season 7 Buffy self traveling around L.A slaying Vamps and Demons as a form of redemption. Similar to Angel I guess, but not as boring since she is actually badass and fun

It seems like she didn’t have much faith in a spin off to begin with. I can see her hesitation but her character was very beloved by many fans, if not the entire fandom. She would’ve amassed a huge following. Tru Calling was a disaster. Her character in Buffy was already well known. She wouldn’t have needed to start from scratch. She followed the Wrong Calling.

I think she was afraid of always being compared to Buffy and Angel. Like we already had a spin-off show about redemption "ANGEL" what would Faith's spin-off be about? She should have joined Angel s5 Edited December 7, 2022 by Josh

sunbathinganimal Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 (edited) Even if Buffy hadn't had to kill him to save the world too much had happened for them to go back to the way things were Edited December 7, 2022 by sunbathinganimal
sunbathinganimal Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 just started S3 and did they up the budget? looks different. more cinematic or something

S2 has the best arc in the whole show (Angelus) S3 is the most consistent (least amount of fillers/bad episodes) S5 is the most epic and feels like the peak of the show in every way + it has 3 episodes that would probably be in my overall Top 5 S6 is flawed and very polarizing but the handling of depression and self-loathing is so well done and emotionally resonating that it makes up for it So overall I'd go with S5 but you could make arguments for all of these IMO. And I'll also say S4 is underrated and a lot of fun on rewatches since it's a lighter, transitional season with several great standalone episodes

I don’t really have any disagreements with your post. Season 5 is probably my favorite arc though. I just love how spiritual it is…. The key, Glory, etc. Very cool to see Buffy take on a deity. I never realized how strong she was until she went up against a god.

Yeah even as I was watching for the first time I remember thinking no way they could've topped that in terms of scope, which retrospectively made me like S6 even more since the writers proved they were aware of it and essentially made a U-turn by going from the most to the least threatening villain(s) in the show and from the most whimsical to the most grounded season
sunbathinganimal Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 just watched the first episode with Faith
fridayteenage Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 i like following along with this blog as i do another rewatch. it keeps track of what % of lines is given to every main character in every episode: https://gabrielleabelle.livejournal.com/308415.html most dominant episodes for each character: buffy freshman 39% how to kill a boy on the first date 36 no place like home 35 as you were 35 welcome to the hellmouth 34 something blue 34 [hmm, feels random. these aren't really her best acting showcases.] willow doppelgangland 40% wild at heart 26 wrecked 26 killer in me 26 tough love 24 grave 24 [not surprisingly, both willow and xander's top eps are the ones where there's two of them running around. Willow's actually beats Buffy's top episode. 5 different seasons represented.] xander replacement 36% zeppo 32 bewitched bothered bewildered 28 beer bad 23 bargaining ii 22 [5 different seasons.] spike fool for love 33% crush 29 sleeper 24 lies my parents told me 23 beneath you 22 [very season 7 centric.] dawn forever 24% blood ties 22 potential 22 him 22 lessons 19 [very s7 first half centric, before they forgot about her in favor of kennedy.] giles a new man 25% dark age 24 lies my parents told me 19 how to kill a boy on the first date 18 i robot you jane 18 helpless 18 [Show could've used a few more Giles heavy eps imo. A New Man is...fine. Fewer 20+%s than spike/dawn/riley/faith/anya.] riley initiative 24 as you were 22 doomed 21 into the woods 20 goodbye iowa 18 faith who are you 27 consequences 23 enemies 20 dirty girls 20 bad girls 17 touched 17 [s3-heavy given that was her only regular season. When she did get focus she got a lot of it.] anya selfless 23% entropy 22 triangle 21 hell's bells 16 same time same place 16 [well, selfless is her best episode.] angel amends 19% enemies 19 becoming one 18 prom 16 angel 15 surprise 15 [very s3-heavy. Not a single 20%, surprisingly, not even his flashback eps.] cordelia out of mind out of sight 21% homecoming 17 the wish 15 bewitched bothered bewildered 13 killed by death 12 [Out of Mind was probably when the show first started towards humanizing her.] tara family 16% after life 14 once more with feeling 13 bargaining ii 12 new moon rising 11 bargaining i 11 [Willow's partners having the fewest eps at double digit %s. Mostly S6 here.] oz wild at heart 29% new moon rising 14 fear itself 11 phases 11 beauty and the beasts 10 [Only two particularly substantial eps; his sendoff and his quick return. Mostly S4 here.]
