Does anyone know if David Boreanaz has a show lined for the upcoming season? He has been on a show steadily since 1997.

No, he does not.

They did announce it back before Joss Whedon got exposed by Charisma

I think Joss simply own everything about this show and they can't do it without him. I mean he himself refuses to release bluray of the shows or remaster them...

And tbf I don't think there is demand for anthology show from this universe, while Buffy remained iconic show, it's more of a cult classic, it was never massive among GP so it wouldn't really make any noise...

I think Blade Runner 2049 is pretty good example of this situation.

He agreed for the podcast though so I don't think he's blocking it if it's quality to his eyes. Like why would he ruin more his legacy by blocking a universe so iconic?

Because studos and cast probably won't to do it with him and he's not gonna let anyone do anything without him

The cast is too old for anything tbh

The show was amazing but lets leave it at peace. We dont need a reboot, a sequel, a prequel or anything. They said what they were suppose to say!

They can crate new stories with a similar vibe. Its not that hard and its not like buffy's premise was any original, it was the execution that was amazing

I fully support this idea. The Buffy/SMG era is finished. We don't need a continuation of her story. An anthology series of all the slayers that preceded Buffy and Faith, such as Sineya (the first slayer) would be much more interesting. Bianca Lawson never ages - she looks even younger now than when she played Kendra. We could see her backstory too. I'd love to also see more of the villains origin stories such as The Master, The First, the Turok Hans, and the Mayor in his ancient snake form. There is soooo much in Buffy's mythology that can be explored.

OMG Bianca Lawson really is ageless!!

But yes, different eras, different slayers, different styles of filming just to have that creative freedom. Sure, no one really seeks out Buffy unless they're a fan or for nostalgia reaasons (or you're a YT movie/tv show reactor), which is honestly kind of freeing in order to kick off a new chapter and diverge into a different direction. The mythology of the slayers and their foes really hands itself to make something remarkable out of it. And with the right PR, the hype will be relatively big.

Yeah, I think if it's something that feels right to the legacy of his creation, I don't think he'd stand in the way. He was all for starting off the story of a new slayer before. Honestly tho, something like anthology series idea of past slayers (and HOPEFULLY SOMEDAY FRAY!!!) is something no person could say no over. It looks like it's Disney who blocks even the slightest attempt here, what with them focusing on milking every single ounce of the Star Wars and Marvel products.

Yesss! I think SMG could come back to be the new narrator who says the line "In each and every generation, a slayer is born, etc." lol

Honestly... I'd still like for Anthony Stewart Head to say that line... his voice is just so... :jonnycat:

It really makes no sense for Disney to block it. A Buffyverse show doesn't need a high budget. Fans are accustomed to the very realistic, non-CGI monsters and vampires, and diving deep into CGI and high-budget production would be unnecessary. It's not a franchise as popular as other brands, and they likely wouldn't produce more than 10 episodes for a streaming service. Yet, it remains a globally successful universe, so I really don't understand their status quo (unless there is something we do not know like the Kazui being assholes or else).

I don't understand it either. Does Joss or the Kuzuis even have any say anyway? Didn't Disney buy all of Joss' shows? I know there was also talk of a Firefly reboot. Basically, the ball is in their corner and no one can do anything about it.

The camera change during the seventh season would not have been that big of an issue if they had just colour-graded things a bit in post. I mean, look at the comparison:

The simplistic of change just makes it feel that much more familiar and dynamic.

I finally realized the best way to explain how Buffy and Angel compliment each other:

Buffy is 80s Madonna, and Angel is 90s Madonna.

Oh and Pylea arc is the best episode run in Buffyverse.

The moment when Wesley realizes that books he was reading were named Wolf, Ram and Hart. And we never found out anything else about their history.

Both shows are worth it, but you really do have to force yourself. Very slow starts.

He's such a great villain and character. Season 2 and 3 villainous arc of Angel is top tier.

Watched 3x11 of Angel last night, Cordy's birthday episode. I forgot how good it is. It might be my favorite non-Pylea episode of the show so far.

It also broke my heart knowing it was the last time seeing Cordy that we know. And seeing how much she didn't want to die only for her to die a year or two later... So sad.

Episode Waiting in the Wings is piece of art

The way we watched Angel and Cordy first become friends, then family and as sexual tension started rising we were waiting for it to burst and and we finally got there and that's it, we're never gonna get it again :chick3:

Also something I never noticed before while watching Angel  is that Wesley has already changed, long time before sh** happens. I don't know why I always thought he started changing after that moment.

I'd really recommend just watching the entire Buffy series from episode one. Although, you really could watch S01E12, and then go on, because S02E01 kind of recaps the entire season one of the show.

I think Angel is already good during season 1 once you give it a chance. The best seasons for me at 1 through 3. X-Files peaked in season 3 and 4.
