Nano Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 (edited) I did a ranking of the seasons based on their ratings average on my IMDB and S4 was one of the highest tbh. The story arc sucks but a lot of the individual episodes are great. Edited May 1, 2023 by Nano

S1 is good-ish but still weak cause they were still trying to find their footing
The Slayer Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Season 4 is easily the worst season. I really enjoyed Season 7.
Lion Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Controversial opinion. Season 3 Season 2 Season 4 (So many good episodes) Season 5 Season 6 Season 1 Season 7
SinnerCity Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 My ranking would go for sure Season 5 Season 7 Final Arc Season 3 Season 2 Season 6 Season 1 Season 7 Minus Final Arc Season 4

Power love Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Season 3 season 5 season 2 season 7 season 6 season 4 season 1 Just my personal taste. I didn’t like the monster of the week concept & the graphics were terrible in season one

Venom Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 As I’m rewatching season 4 of Buffy, I think something that also affects this season is that they don’t have a good hangout/research spot. We had the library and then there’s the magic shop next season but this season is Giles’ house. And Xander’s basement? Does California even have basements? Point is, it doesn’t feel stable and a bit dangerous. On the plus side, seeing Tara again just makes me so happy!

Point is, it doesn’t feel stable and a bit dangerous. On the plus side, seeing Tara again just makes me so happy! Season 4 was definitely messy, but in retrospect, I think it couldn't have worked any other way, it needed to be all over the place because well, most of the characters were all over the place. Giles didn't have a job as a watcher or librarian, Xander didn't know what to do with his life, Buffy and Willow were college freshmen and some of us know how complicated the first year of college/university can be, you keep trying to hold on to what you know from high school while trying to discover this new world, it can be terrifying. I think my true main issue with Season 4 is the main villains and The Initiative story arc are poorly executed. Honestly, who the hell thought having Adam on the show was a good idea?
