"Conversations with Dead People" was the peak of season 7 imo. This was the last episode of the series where it felt like effort was put in the writing.

like i can never really explain it but yeah i just didnt vibe with it and i've tried MANY times but just cant get into it. its something about the tone and the writing and characterization of everyone and everything my eyes just glaze over and i immediately lose interest lol

yeah it went into a weird autopilot after that ep where the plot only really moved forward in a lazy and sloppy way until the finale where it feels like they rushed through a lot of stuff idk. but yeah thats one of the only episodes that season that felt like classic buffy

I hate how this song was never released. If Buffy was a modern show, it would have been put onto streaming. I always get chills when it cuts to Anya impaled to the wall.

For a hot minute, I was considering selling my series boxset until I realized how much it actually costs nowadays versus the shitty quality that's available on streaming platforms so I'm holding on to it for the time being.

Also, The Buffy tarot deck is now available, not sure I'll get it but it looks cute

Even if the show does get a Blu ray release in the future, I’ll probably still keep my box sets as I have the ‘bible editions’ that were released in the UK and they’re gorgeous.

They start at S2.

They realistically could have put it on Once More, with Feeling. They could have pushed the soundtrack release from September to November; "Selfless" aired on October 22, 2002, so they could have put the soundtrack out in November with this track on it.

As much as I love the American box sets, y'all got some gorgeous set ups, too!

They definitely could have!

They could have even kept the original release date and just had it labelled as I’ll Be Mrs (Lost Song) or something along those lines. It just seems like such a waste to keep it off the soundtrack.

The bible editions are so unique. I’ve seen similar packaging since, but nothing quite like those Buffy ones. They used the same packaging for Angel 1-5, so they look so pretty on my shelf.

I replaced the discs inside for the Region 1 versions as for some reason, the American release was encoded a lot better than the European release, so I prefer to watch those encodes of the episodes.

Also, random question but did you used to be a member on Spill It Now as I recognise your name? @livelikemusic

Mhmm, or even from digital releases now. Emma understood the assignment!

American DVDs yes have the better quality, but you all got the 16:9 edits of seasons four through seven!

I've got this boxset and now it's retailing at $250, that's like $100 more than when I originally bought it in 2012.

Angel is definitely a chore to get through, literally had to restart season 1 like 5 times before I finished it but Cordelia has my heart so I stayed for her. When I was a kid, I'd always change the channel when it came on. :dies:

Season 4 especially, though fun, was torture. Also love Fred + Harmony, and there's some cute episodes here and there.

Cordelia, Fred, Illyria, Lilah and Faith's redemption episodes are the best parts of Angel imo

The writing in Angel is terrible, that's the main issue for me. Seasons 1-2 had terrible storylines with the exception of the crossover episodes and Season 4 was the only season when they kinda had their own identity.

They messed up big time in Season 5 with Angel managing W&H. In my opinion, things would've been very different had they given Angel a better storyline and honestly, we needed more Faith, having their very own vampire slayer would've made things x1000 better.

Yeah, those were great episodes, to be honest. I mean, Angel did have some really good episodes but they're kinda here and there

That's the one thing I hate about Angel is the ending of story lines are never satisfying. Angel going rogue in season 2 should have been more epic like how the hell do you only have Dru, Lindsey and Darla in and out of season 2 even though they're the big bads of that season?

I love the Pylea story line but Dru, Darla and Lindsey should have been in the season more instead of focusing on stupid episodes like "First impressions" it was a filler episode to the max of Gunn and Cordy roaming around Los Angeles doing nothing while Angel was getting raped by Darla in his dreams

I thought so! I used to be a member there as well, I was most known as 'Winchester' but then became 'Wrecked' in my last few years there.

I'm not a huge fan of the 16:9 edits because of the errors that appear such as characters speaking without their mouths moving lol. I know they could easily fix these types of errors if they were to do a proper Blu-ray release.

It's so depressing to think that Fox originally gave the masters to the same company that did the X-Files remaster (which looks fantastic) but then took it off them and went with a cheaper option. To think, somewhere in a parallel universe we have Buffy looking excellent on Blu-ray. Now that Disney owns the masters, the chances of them doing another remaster is so slim as they're really stingy when it comes to physical releases. :chick3:
