ok upon rewatching season 7 i remember how weird i thought it was that they tried to make buffy and wood a thing like it just doesn’t work lmao

In re-watching S06E01, there is an editing error in the European 16:9.... when they zoom in on Willow on top of the mausoleum, you can see the film set to the right of the screen. It is only absent when there are close-up shots of the character.

For a hot minute, I was considering selling my series boxset until I realized how much it actually costs nowadays versus the shitty quality that's available on streaming platforms so I'm holding on to it for the time being.

 

Also, The Buffy tarot deck is now available, not sure I'll get it but it looks cute

It’s a shame the fighting choreographers left after Season 4. The acrobatics/flips and stuff were cool in Season 5, but the fights could’ve been more epic between Buffy and Glory with better choreography.

I Love Robin Wood but yeah the chemistry they tried to give him and Buffy was nonexistent.

so i just finished watching s7 and yeah wow...what a show!

 

i will still never forgive them for treating buffy the way they did this seaon tbh. it was brutal to watch because it was honestly so unwarranted! also, one thing i just noticed and thought of on this rewatch that i found amusing, the scene where anya and andrew are gathering stuff from the hospital and then end up having a wheelchair fight, there's a moment where anya hits andrew's wheel but she knicks the hand he was using to push the wheels and he screams in actual pain lmao, was that an outtake? i wonder if there is any commentary out there about that scene because the reaction seemed like it should've been an outtake that ended up making it into the final edit lmao. i'm still sad about anya's death. would've been fine with a death in the core scooby gang (minus buffy obvi) over her tbh. 

 

anyway, s7 gets a lot of flack but it does have a lot of issues so it is what it is. i do wish that the pacing and lore exploration was done better but maybe they will in a reboot sometime down the line.

I'm ok with Anya dying, she was such a beloved character and it wouldn't be fair to her to see Xander dying which is the other character that they could've killed and it would've been fine to me tbh, I was just not ok with the way she died, to be honest, it was so painful to watch.

What they should just do is take the 4:3 of the first three seasons and enhance it, and then take the 16:9 European releases for the final four seasons and use those. Easy fix. Done. Boom.

Watching it for Cordelia and Wesley's characters make it rewarding for me at least. Plus you get the fantastic Winifred Burkle

I always felt the same way until I watched it all the way through in 2020.its good but wouldn't watch it twice. Just force yourself and it will get good lol
