was looking through imdb for fun.

looks like buffy's the most rated pre-2010 show centered around a female lead with no male lead. whew, her power.

ETA: 149k.

Not Xena having only 6.3, people really need to give it a chance, it's a wonderful TV show

xena has 46k ratings; pretty decent longevity.

5th place for female-centered 90s shows, after buffy, satc, charmed, and voyager.

i mean, the only person i can think of that went from vampire to human is darla.

it involved a lot of evil to do that. and also she was dead-dead for awhile before that. idk about that.

At the end of Angel S01E22 Wesley mentioned the prophecy of Angel becoming human once all his sins are forgiven by his good deeds. I've only watched Angel once and read After The Fall and Aftermath back in the day when they were released but I think that there was chance of them becoming human at some point

Sarah putting the final nail in the coffin of a revival for now😭 I kinda understand tho. It’s not necessary to reboot or revive the show, it’s really just fans that want it. Unless the previous writers and cast return I wouldn’t want a reboot to mess with the verse. And imagine if Joss was hired as showrunner💀 the backlash would be insane.

They already rebooted the OG Buffy with the BOOM! comics series, I read a handful of issues and it wasn't terrible. To be honest, they can do a spin-off if they wanted to, either following the events after 'Chosen' 20 years later or whatever opening the doors for the OG cast to do cameos and stuff or they could simply go the Sci-Fi / Futuristic route and develop a live action Fray. Netflix did a good job with Altered Carbon in terms of visuals so a streaming service could easily produce that show, I mean, the Buffy fandom has gotten bigger ever since the show ended so definitely they could build hype around it. The main issue we have is that Joss Whedon is cancelled and whether we like it or not, there's no one like him that could make the buffyverse justice.

That's because NBC refuses to put Xena on proper streaming like Peacock or Hulu. You have to buy Xena on streaming sites like YouTube and Amazon in order to see it. The DVDs are also out of print and too expensive now. NBC is trying to bury Xena

SMG and DB deserved an Emmy for that episode

Xena was on Hulu for a short time pre-2018!

Yes. It was a choice, and I have full beliefs as to why it was the choice it was.

Season five is... chef's kiss and completely makes up for the mess the fourth season was.

Season 4 was going to be risky regardless, it's the first Season after High School so it was a tough turf to navigate, Angel and Cordelia were gone, new characters needed introduction and stuff. The crossover episodes, some of the standalone episodes and Primeval/Restless season finale were great and there's Beer Bad.

I mean, it's a great episode for Season 4 standards, I wouldn't include it in a top 20 Buffy episodes though

For me, I also think it suffered because the creatives were putting focus on Angel to ensure it'd survive its debut season.

Angel had David Greenwalt was mostly leading Angel, Joss only wrote a handful of episodes if I recall correctly, the first episode and Faith's arc but I can see where you are coming from, it wouldn't surprise if Joss and the team decided on not focus too much on Season 4 in order to build hype for Season 5. We started getting hints about Dawn's arrival and The Gift in Graduation Day Part 2 so it would make sense to me really.

i mean, shows that go from high school to college often have a bit of trouble.

it's why Pretty Little Liars, One Tree Hill, Riverdale skipped college years altogether.

For me, it came down to the loss of the Library, where the Scoobies all got together. Then, it becomes Giles' living room? No. That did not work, either. The re-introduction of the remodeled Magic Box in season five brought back a reuniting place for the Scoobies.
