I hope she drops in 2 or 3 dance tracks and the rest of 12 tracks can be rap tho! Literally. Hardcore hiphop fans will always hate on her rapping (which is a vocal delivery, not a genre help) because she's rapping over pop/RnB instrumentals and has hooks. Doja sweetie you don't have to prove anything to anyone when it comes to rapping. Prove everyone how you can do any genre instead, something that people with common sense already been knew. Drop 'Shots'. Drop that rock album.

Topaz Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 I hate how fans did this to Nicki now theyre going to do the same to Doja where they feel the need to prove themselves and make a predominately rap album and start losing their mainstream success.

Thinking Of You Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 I knew this was her next step. I was watching and listening to janet. the other day and I was thinking "I bet this aesthetic will be Doja's next project." She's going to have this urban, edgy type side to her music and her presentation will be the same. I love it though. It would be the perfect evolution.

ultrablue Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Doesn't matter if her next album is rap, r&b or pop, it will smash. The public is in love with her and will support whatever she puts out.

Protocol Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 I doubt it because there's no way Dr Luke will ruin his cash cow, it's going to have at least a couple of easy listening disco lite bops ala Say So and Kiss Me Moar

Y’all do know that Luke makes rap production too, right? Lol. He did Coi Leray, Young Thug, Juice Wrld, DaBaby all within the last couple of years. He’s not new to making Rap beats. I think if Doja can make “Need to Know” a mainstream Pop hit (def more Rap leaning, WAY diff than any Pop song released last two years), pretty safe to say she’ll be ok in terms of charting.
Solgayleo Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Planet Her was a little too pop for my taste… KMM didn’t do that much for me (although it was a smasha). Most of her rap stuff is still pretty melodic honestly, and she has no issues creating viral moments and crossover hits. I also doubt her label would let her get away with a rap album with no radio-ready songs. Think this is a smart move - might give her an opportunity to create something more critically acclaimed than PH was
Puttanesca Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Her rap songs are great. Y'all can keep the corny pop music like KMM.
