She doesn't barely scrape through. Her talent is limited, yes, but her voice is instantly recognizable on records. There's a reason many DJ's collabed with her for a while. She makes hits. She's not at the top of the charts, but she's always maintained her star status, I'd say she's above Miley and Demi in terms of Disney alumns relevant in the industry. 

 

I'd say she finds success in everything she does because she is likable, unproblematic, and has great sense of direction.

This simply means she's doing better than people who are flopping. Compared to the acts currently flourishing on the pop scene: Taylor, Dua, Harry, Doja and others, she's outshined and outdone. It's very easy to compare her numbers to people who aren't doing well, and that's alright, but to pretend like she's excelling on certain levels is delusional. She has some good songs and has had some hit songs but that's about it (outside of Rare beauty). She's not a big movie star like Jlo or Gaga, let alone actual big movie stars, she's gained little to no respect as a musician or as an actor, and her celebrity is mostly confined to Instagram.

Why? She had 3 #1 pop hits and she was the most played female artist on pop radio and she was everywhere and the era was smashing until her tour got cancelled halfway through. 
Revival which then was we don’t talk anymore which then was It Ain’t Me and global domination. That era was MASSIVE.
