Adele (7.9m) about to fall below Lana (7.7m) in Spotify daily streams. Why?

Yes, she came like a dark horse :cm:

Also, not the 8 albums excuse, as if Lana got the same amount of promo as all the other girls in here, she didn't even have social media for a whole year :swan:

We are getting brave aren’t we? Adele literally ended EDM on the mainstream and shifted the entire musical scene just by sitting on a chair. Quite literally Lana wouldn’t have found any sort of relevance if it wasn’t for Adele.

I’m sick of this fanfic. “Ended EDM” when mainstream EDM hadn’t even taken off in 2011 :deadbanana: I guess I must have imagined the huge 2012-2014 EDM wave :lmao:

Not a single artist besides Sam Smith has been significantly influenced by Adele, and I’m more than willing to die on that hill. Meanwhile people are still riffing on stuff Lana did on BTD 10 years ago. Her fingerprints are all over pop music.

Why is Adele always in your thoughts?

Be grateful she’s in someone’s thoughts at all, because she has certainly been evading the thoughts of the GP

Adele's streams are truly horrible. Release To be loved as a single, it can save 30 from free-falling.

The excuses when Lana is an alt pop girl and Adele is the "music industry" as her "fans" like to say  embarassing

Adele's music skews older meaning less streaming appeal and more pure sales. It's why 21's top 2 biggest sales weeks outsold Lana's entire discography.

Lana stans celebrating being number ten after having released three albums in the last three years :hoetenks:

Most of the people here saying "4 albums vs 8"

Ariana has 6

Olivia 1

Billie 2

And they are above Adele

Why? Adele's album is newer.

Yes, and without lifting a finger to promo. That’s what happens when you have a timeless discography and not just quick lil singles

Adele’s fans are mostly boomers who bought her albums on CD and listen to it in their car. They aren’t streaming her music on Spotify. Also the songs on 30 are just not something young people will listen to on repeat or make TikToks for.

Well, Lana's music resonate well with younger listeners. I love Lana but please do not come for Adele. She's two times AOTY winner with multiple number one hits under her belt and two diamond albums.
