He should apologize to Joni Mitchell for using the same name as one of her best songs as the title of his reductive album

Battalions of paper-minded males
Talking commodities and sales
While at home their paper wives and paper kids
Paper the walls to keep their gut reactions hid

Lyrical masterpiece :chick3:

He is kind of an amalgamation of him and Bowie, with a hint of Peter Gabriel thrown in there as well :rip:

Ruthless comment, but he didn’t lie

I’m going to give Mick the benefit of the doubt and say that he doesn’t sound shady, but his taste level as of late has been concerning

Exactly, I'm not agreeing with someone who said this :ahh: Just bitter old man talk to me

He didn't lie but he also didn't need to say it :deadbanana4:

True, he doesn’t have Moves Like Jagger.mp3

Mick and the Stones were themselves quite reductive though. I've read Keith Richard's book Life where he mentions how obsessed Mick was with James Brown and how James had to tell him to f*ck off when they first met and he wouldn't stop following him around. Even made his style the slightly off beat, weirdly epileptic version of what James Brown and Jackie Wilson were doing.

Everyone, even the legends, have their own influences and people they looked up to.

Watching Harry Styles is about as interested as watching paint dry to me, but Mick sounds a bit messy here. Wyd sis?

I'm not the one getting called out for being derivative and superficial by rock legends though. Anyone can tell that, underneath the Dr Seuss outfits and the queerbaiting, Harry is just another boring, faceless and unoriginal artist, his music is mediocre and tolerable at best and I'm glad Mick Jagger and I can agree on that point.

Ooof, someone's mad. Got that off your chest, hon? God bless you on your journey.

My god your life sounds so sad, begging for an argument with a stranger on a forum. Jesus Christ, next time I feel bad about mine I'll remind myself of this interaction. I'm putting you on ignore now. Hope things get better

Did Mick say Harry is being reductive in the article? It's paywalled so I can't read it. That blurb being shared is not Mick saying Harry is reductive so I'm a little confused. He's literally saying, Harry is my friend and I don't know why we are being compared when he doesn't sound like me or dance like me, he just happens to look like me. He's shown Harry love many times, so I don't see it as being shady? Maybe I'm missing something!

Didn't you spend a "huge amount of time" writing an essay about why you hate taylor swift on this said forum, i would take a good look in the mirror if i were you.

No, he didn't. He said he respects Harry and that they have an easy relationship. It's the exact opposite of what the title of the thread claims.

I remember when One Direction performed Where The Broken Hearts Go at the X Factor with Mick Jagger and I hated that performance because Harry was doing the ABSOLUTE MOST to get Mick's attention. When Mick joined them on stage he stood between Louis and Niall and at some point Harry started jumping and spinning like crazy until he took Louis place :deadbanana4:

EDIT: nvm that was Ronnie Wood, not Mick Jagger :deadbanana4: LMAO i always thought it was Mick though!

I spend "huge amounts of time" explaining why I don't think Spotify is a bubble that's about to burst, for instance. I'm opinionated and wordy. I don't hate Taylor Swift, I simply dislike her and express it once in a while, but I understand that she's one of the most successful artists of her generation and wish her the best. Never have I used ridiculous insults to come for her, because I'd find it quite ridiculous, considering I'm never gonna see the type of success and wealth she has. Would be kinda pathetic, even.

Does that answer your question? Have a nice day!
