That’s the opposite of “reductive” They saw Harry and Mick Jagger in the same sentence and ran. Looks like a lot of people are upset about the ~queer aesthetics~ Mick has talked really warmly about Harry multiple times and invited him to secret gigs and stuff. Like, they're definitely not friends but they're very friendly. There is absolutely no shade at all, but people love to see feuds so they'll run with it.
PoisonCandy Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 He's only 2/3 albums in. He still has plenty of time to evolve. Just look at what happened with Gaga, everyone kept calling her a Madonna copy until around the mid-10's, but now everyone just sees her as Lady Gaga. Harry will grow out of this stage eventually, and instead of people calling him "the next Mick Jagger" or whatever, he'll just be known as Harry Styles.

Now WHO the flying **** that is in your avatar, THAT is the question we need an answer to. Because I don't know. All these stats don't change the fact that Rolling Stones is a washed up dad rock band and more people associate their name with the magazine nowadays than with the band itself. No amount of retirement home streams will change that. Regarding the guy in my avi, you can go on Google and do a reverse image search if you want to know who he is... if you know how to use Google.

Keter Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I’m not a huge Harry fan, but he has solid vocal ability. Mick Jagger can’t sing for ****, especially now. We’ve moved past dad rock.
Darkgalord Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 It's so weird when old legacy acts behave this way when new young artists get inspired by them. It comes off as bitter. Not all of them are like that though.

We’ve moved past dad rock. This is exactly one of the reasons I know Mick wasn't shading him. People are jumping on this, but Mick has never been considered a good singer and people have always made fun of his dance moves. For it to be shade he'd have to be considered good at the things he mentions and he's not, and he's 100% aware of it.
BOOMBAYAH Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 I don’t even like Harry Styles like that but it’s pretty distasteful for Mick Jagger to speak about him in such a demeaning manner when he’s embraced him in the past + Harry has always showed him love. If he felt this way, there is a more euphemistic way to put it.
Katamari Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 i wish harry was reductive. i would love some classic rock styled songs from in the same vein as Rolling stones Exile or Sticky Fingers

Almighty Gaga Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Quote He doesn’t have a voice like mine or move on stage like me Serving Cher's "she's not unbelievably talented, she's not beautiful" on Madonna
ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted May 22, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted May 22, 2022 I don’t get much shadiness from this? It sounds like he’s addressing how Harry is compared to him….it’s true, their voices and performing are different, they just look alike.
Mobility Mary Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 He should apologize to Joni Mitchell for using the same name as one of her best songs as the title of his reductive album

Dsmrs77 Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 (edited) I’m going to give Mick the benefit of the doubt and say that he doesn’t sound shady, but his taste level as of late has been concerning Edited May 22, 2022 by Dsmrs77
sasashite Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Mick Jagger is an immortal legend with millions of fans and a huge legacy. Someone's sister can't relate.
