There is just something so sad about the opening note alone :(

 

A song like this would never be released today

IDK it's obviously a nice song mostly due to the strong melody in the chorus, but I feel like Scheiße by Jo Calderone has it beat in the "timeless" quality.

Fun fact about Torn: it was released in 1993, 1995 and 1996 by different artists but it was Natalie's 1997 version that finally reached a wider audience.

Song was massive when it was released and it's always remembered because of how excellent it is. It's a beautiful excellent produced pop song. A timeless one.
