So let me get this straight...

• Business Insider was working on this story and reached out to Elon for comment.
• Elon responded to BI and said "there's more to the story" and that he needed more time to (assumedly) prepare a statement.
• Business Insider did the professional thing and delayed publishing their story because they wanted to get Elon's response first.
• Elon never responded and instead took to Twitter to talk about how there will be "political attacks" and "dirty tricks" used against him.

Interesting. He knew this story was coming out, purposely delayed it, and then tried to jump in front of it with his tweets. How is anyone defending this? It's so very clearly real since he went out of his way to try and downplay the story before it was even posted.

It is concerning that Dems (it applies to everyone doing this btw) expose (Elon) or cover up (The Cuomos) sexual harrasment based purely on political benefits.

 

However, if you don't think that weaponizing sexual harassment affects the public's perception on this issue (like it has happened with Kavanaugh and Biden claims, or even something like the Depp/Heard trial on domestic violence) then I don't know what to tell you.

The very public senator with multiple allegations dating back to 2003 (!) that only resigned after McConnell called for an ethics investigation?

 

If the best example you got of Democrats not using sexual harrasment for political benefit is them desperately avoiding the shitstorm (which was the only reason McConnell was doing it anyway) that implied a full investigation by a GOP controlled Senate

Do I believe the story itself? Yes. It's sadly common for wealthy men like him to think they can get away with anything, be it sexual harassment or worse. And Business Insider is a serious publication. They wouldn't run a story like this, knowing the richest man in the world can sue them into oblivion, if they didn't have very solid evidence that proofs the story to be true.

 

But like I said, the timing IS suspicious. It makes me wonder if they would've buried this story if he was still a Democrat.

The way you just made this up. “The Cuomos” literally both lost their jobs and entire careers over what happened and there’s still charges + investigations locally over Andrew Cuomo’s head. 

 

Elon Musk literally said “Oh Democrats made this all up” and people are believing it and he’s avoiding any jail time or criminal liability for this.
