She’s done so much in her career. Her own Barbie, TV shows, music, film, etc. I will always love me some Brandy. I wish these moments of unfamiliarity (due to age, ignorance or whatever) would inspire people to get more educated on how much of a pioneer she was for teen R&B acts and young black women in general in the 90s.

Brandy was actually one of the first names I came across when I first started "listening" to music, I was like 11, not North American and she was everywhere.

 

however I didn't know she was Ray J's sister? like I only know Ray J because of the Kim Kardashian tape. Was I supposed to know there were family ties there? is it relevant?

I think the mistake Brandy made here is that Jack didn’t mean any harm from that statement. Should Jack have known that? Sure. I’m much more a fan of Brandy, but he clearly didn’t mean it in a shady way.
