Planet Mars Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 He hasn't put out an album yet so not everything is set in stone. But yeah, he wasn't even a rapper anymore anyway and he lost that fanbase after he decided to be an idiot and disrespect the genre. All her had left were the pop stans and we all know how fickle they are. He could've had a Drake like career, but he's serving Katy Perry, with an even shorter imperial period
Beyonnaise Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 I'll tell you exactly why this happened and it's not complicated. I was in college in 2017-18 when he was on top of the world: his demographic never cared about him as an artist. They just liked when his lowest common denominator bops played at darties. That's such an easily replaceable position to be in, and Jack Harlow has completely filled it. In fact, Post stopped seeming cool to that crowd even before the pandemic. His peak with the college crowd was with Beerbongs. Hollywood's Bleeding would have been a massive underperformance without Circles, which is basically a Maroon 5 song and performed as such. My own dad loves that song and he would never have listened to his rap songs like Rockstar or White Iverson. He became uncool.

Dolce Vita Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 (edited) im shocked at the way he completely fell off, at one point you couldn’t escape his music and now it seems like he’s been replaced by kid laroi and jack harlow Edited May 13, 2022 by Dolce Vita

slas Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 US iTunes: #9 (+2) Post Malone ft. Roddy Ricch - Cooped Up A grower?

Smilers Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 The random, Gaga-sized decline is just There were no warning signs at al, the GP just decided to collectively drop him out of nowhere
Theshigo Washidu Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 How did he go from Circles to just completely flopping?
Pop Art Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 It's still a little too soon to tell for sure, but if this era ends up being his Witness like it's looking it might be, the writing was low key on the wall during Hollywood's Bleeding like it was during Prism.
Cheers Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Post doesn’t really have stans. Most people that enjoyed him were college partying adults but they graduated. He’s going to need another undeniable banger to slay again.
magazine Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Why are you making a thread for a non-full tracking day then?
Ger Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 People saying HB era was only successful because of pop classic "Circles", yet the album is still charting in the Top 30, almost 3 years after.
Arrows Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 (edited) I always knew he wouldn’t last. He was really a product of his time - now, the times have changed, but he hasn’t. He never did anything unique with his music, he just happened to fit with the trend at the time. Everything about his production to vocal style of singing just screams 2018 and already sounds like a throwback. Edited May 13, 2022 by Arrows
