Meanwhile some users in this very thread stan female artists who’ve said *** with a negative connotation but lets act woke to this…. :rip:

They're not used to lyrics w meaning that you have to think about :toofunny2: and then act like their faves are better lyricists than Kendrick

I appreciate the message but he could have not used the slurs lol

The song could’ve had the exact same message and be pro lgbt without using a slur. What kind of nonsense.

Using the slur gets people talking about it. Let's not act surprised about shock value in pop culture.

Exactly. It's cringe and definitely offensive.:giraffe:

I'm surprised the message he was conveying went over so many heads.

as if his straight male listeners care about the message and aren’t gonna be screaming ****** at the top of their lungs :coffee2:

I get the narrative, but at the same time he definitely could've achieved what he wanted with the song without dropping the slur. It was a choice, and not a good one.

A rapper on his level, making a pro-LGBTQ+ song, with the type audience he has, is kind of a big deal. Meanwhile, here's ATRL finding a way to turn it into a negative.

Do you dense *** really not understand the pro-LGBT+ message of the song or-

He is literally pointing out his own ignorance in using the term when he was younger.

Half of you probably stan Cardi and her actual homophobe of a husband anyway..

!!!

Atrl is such a weird place.

I don't see how he could have made the point in a provocative way without saying it. But OK.

I'm not offended, but I know some of his dumb, ignorant fans will definitely misinterpret his intent to use that word without guilt. :toofunny2:

If he isn't a ****** he shouldn't being using the word. That's it. That's the discussion
