The promotion is right there and let's not EVEN forget the proper FRIDAY release. Hold My Hand has a few retweet moments and it's not even used yet in ANY of the Top Gun trailers!

I also very MUCH am hoping the song outstreams Hold My Hand given that she's in the TOP TEN right now for most streamed artists

Girl the trailer for that top gun movie is being shown before Dr strange which is a hit rn. There are no excuses for a RE RECORDING of a 8 year old random album track to be outstreaming Lady GagA’s heavily promoted new song for a heavily promoted movie just take the L and move on.

This is the streaming age, sis. If Fleetwood Mac can have a 43 year old song go collect almost a billion streams off an impromptu TikTok trend, an old song CLEARLY marketed as a NEW release and with inclusion on NEW MUSIC FRIDAY with push and promotion from Amazon can obviously make numbers happen, lol.

Despite 15M more Spotify playlist reach and Music Video boost, Hold My Hand failed to get 1/4 of This Love's streams yesterday. Why? 

 

And yeah, Taylor is the second most streamed (and 10th most in monthly listeners) artist in the world because she still has the demand for that. Not every artist left behind in the past decade and some artists are still relevant enough to keep up in this decade's AOTD race. Time to accept and move on.
