smoothkarmel Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 I’m sure Bey will top this her next tour. Africa and Brazil are begging for her to visit

So as expected Stripped and Back to Basics Tours accounted for ~120M. Her first concert did fairly decent as well considering it was mainly a North American Tour. I'd just throw in some 5-6M for the X Tour which was essentially pretty much a continuation of the Xperience residency.

OT. Well done to all the others.

Even if Madonna doesn't retire soon, Taylor is 30 years younger...Madonna will always retire sooner for obvious reasons. Taylor doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. To be honest, Beyoncé had a chance if she decided to visit Asia, South Africa, Brasil, Australia and New Zealand. She can already sell them tickets effortlessly in US & Europe (FWT visited only these two continents, remember?). However, she released The Gift in 2019, which drew inspiration from Africa plus she performed at festival there, so touring there will be an easy feat for B. As for Asia, she seems to have chance to tour South Korea, Indonesia and The Philippines. But I won't cross out India and China as well. As for the rest, like Brasil, Australia and NZ, she definitely had 100% chance sold out. Not sure about Japan.
ArtForFreedom Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 I know she'd probably hate the idea but a Greatest Hits tour to coincide with her biopic would bring in bank..
UnusualBoy Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Nice numbers for most of the ladies, Madonna will probably be passed by Bey and for sure passed by Taylor but the fact that she's still pulling huge numbers at her age is a testament of her power
Keeandga Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 It’s much easier to have higher grosses these day bc wasn’t they selling tickets for like $20 and WTG tour was like $16?

So yes she absolutely can. She just needs to stop stunting her tour dates and visit the countries that have been desperate for her to visit for a decade.

I think with inflation Madonna's figure doubles Bey's / Taylor's They would definitely need more than one tour. Maybe three or more if Madge continues touring herself.

Protocol Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 It's nonsensical to compare grosses without accounting for inflation, just like it's nonsensical to claim 'Suicide Squad' was more popular than 'Jurassic Park' (it's over it in raw grosses, but far behind once adjusted for inflation). It's likely no one will catch up Madonna because no one has had such a long career as a global hitmaker and major global touring act. Madonna had almost 30 years of uninterrupted global hits, which had the effect of consolidating her previous fanbase while adding new younger fans with each period of time. It's why Sticky & Sweet is comfortably at #1 (and far ahead when you adjust for inflation); at that point she was BOTH a legendary iconic act with nostalgic fans AND a current hitmaker competing with the new girls on the charts. That's so hard to accomplish. Beyonce would need to be getting hit after hit with practically every single she releases until the end of this decade to really grow a solid Gen Z and Gen Alpha fanbase the way Madonna acquired millennial gays in the mid/late 2000s thanks to the likes of Hung Up and 4 Minutes.

It's $450M and that's completely feasible with a proper global tour. However people are right about the inflation aspect, so Madonna will remain at #1 for a very long time.
