What does Palestine have to do with this?

They released that featurette to shut up those claims of "bad CGI". No, pookies, it's just a vibrant fairytale landscape, all clearly done practically. The tremendous care that is being put into this production has me so ready for these films. Kudos, Jon Chu and team.

What was the budget for this? It seems huge

About $300m for both parts combined.

Apparently it was 310M for both movies, but that's only for the sets, actors, makeup, costumes, CGI, props, etc.

theres also a budget for marketing, for blockbusters movies it can be around more than a half of the movie budget, so for both movies probably around 500M (including marketing)

the trailer is so disappointing :rip:

the way it was edited and presented the plot made no sense to me… it also barely shows that it's a musical or "part one"

also WHY would they spoil Morrible and the Wizard? :deadbanana:

the promo reel was much better imo, and looked less like a generic CGI barren wasteland

they're really showing too much in these trailers, looks kind of like a mess:rip:

ariana and cynthia look good, but Michelle yeoh seems miscast her line reads in this :rip:

skeptical but will probably do really well but don't think it'll be rated too highly.

It felt less like a trailer, and more like a story run through for a movie that hasn't even come out. There's no need for them to spoil Madame Morrible or what is likely the last shot of the movie (Elphaba flying off on her broomstick.)

This is the type of trailer that happens when the movie isn't good. They throw the whole plot into 2 minutes.

…..however, everyone knows the story by now.
