What I meant is that an artist actively releasing music is more valuable/attractive to brands I would think. In terms of visibility, etc. Which part of the industry are you in? Are you the artist themselves, or part of the producing team, or do you work for the label itself?

Gotta be a jack of all trades, lol. But I’m more in music tech now. Working with artists was “glamorous” but most of those jobs pay ****. Its CRAZY standing next to artists with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and clothes on. And getting paid a measly salary. AND you’re expected to look just as glamorous as the artist while on a budget While I had some good memories + a few occasional amazing experiences, at some point it gets old.
TROPICUM Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 well she's definitely going somewhere... not to the studio but somewhere...

Do you vent your frustrations about stars being richer than you on just ATRL or do you do it on your socials too?
Robyn. Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 It was fun to drag her questionable career decisions at some point But I fear she just can't afford to put out music, knowing she wants to go all big all the time with a high-budget video. It'd explain why she's resorting to becoming a social media celebrity so much, she's probably getting more money elsewhere.
Khal Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 One of those vocal bootcamps that labels are allegedly getting their acts to attend

Do you vent your frustrations about stars being richer than you on just ATRL or do you do it on your socials too? Well there’s a difference between complaining about not being rich vs. making $30K in LA/NY and not being able to pay your own bills (WITH a roommate) Not to mention you’re “on” 24/7, given I have definitely gotten woken up past midnight to work many times. And also the sweet, sweet abuse (having staplers thrown at you, having your life threatened by rappers, etc). And yes, I’ve seen it with my own eyes (and experienced it myself). While occasional, still traumatic and unexpected b/c ppl don’t talk about these things. I think its gotten better in recent years though, given a few labels have been sued by assistants/interns. But I digress…

Honestly that would be motivation enough to get an album out (for me at least). I guess reliant on brand deals? I’d love to see how her team pitches her for these deals…like, what’s the benefit to the brand w/ no album + her inconsistent social presence? I mean let’s not act like contestants from the bachelor don’t get brand deals and have these million dollar houses. idk where the narrative that shes broke comes from when y’all how easy it is these days to make a buck with a 200k follower count
