mxtthewdelrey Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 should've done this before giving #1 to a child molester idk

BTS is coming in June, they need to do something with the remixes, if not everything will be pointless. This will probably hurt more artists like Nicki because the Barbz are loyal but they aren't as crazy as the bts army to buy 15 different remixes
Luckitty Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 (edited) the way billboard wouldn't have done anything if armys kept butter at #1 for only one or two weeks but they decided to be greedy and steal 10+ weeks from organic songs and now it backfired they will probably never get a multi week #1 ever again Edited April 21, 2022 by Luckitty
305 Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Poor BTS but honestly this annoys me even more because they could've introduced a this last summer when bts was ******* up the charts
Solaria Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 It’s time we get rid of the Billboard charts all together. It’s way too radio driven. The Spotify global numbers are way more interesting to look at because they give a way more accurate result of what is being consumed by the public

Now, limit those remixes to maybe max of 3 per song, and we're good.

If it's the same song for the chart then it's the same song for bulk buying. You can only buy the song once and have it count for the charts. It still counts for certification and that's that.
raven Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 This is long overdue. Digital sales, as a measure of consumption, are becoming more and more irrelevant by the day.

I think radio is okay, Apple Music should count, etc. What they need to change is the dynamic on radio. You can't have songs that are years old still hogging the charts. Move it along. If they did nobody would have a problem with it, the radio is still listened more than Spotify.
Karma88 Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 No more Top10 debuts for BTS, Gaga, Taylor and Nicki.
Bloodflowers. Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 should've done that back when Olivia was being scammed but regardless we still view G4U as a 11 week #1 smasha

Ironically, the song is shaping up to become their biggest and most organic hit after Dynamite Edited April 21, 2022 by gustavothehuman
Into The Void Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 This will be interesting to see with future B200 abs B100 charts. Glad my faves sales are organic
Jimmy. Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Yeah, this is overdue but I’m glad Nicki snatched ha 20th T10 before the change
Kool_Aid_King Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Y'all saying this sucks for Nicki/Barbs when they literally just mass buy week 1... She will still have huge debuts but still 0 longevity since this de-incentivizes buying in subsequent weeks. BTS will still have their 100-150K sales first week since they drop songs with 6 remixes, instrumentals, acapellas and all that.... But it'll just stunt longevity on the charts which is still a good thing. I'm sure their insane fans will find a way to circumvent this but we'll see. As others have stated, Idk how they'd be able to track it this aggressively without huge mistakes but time will tell
BionicWooHoo Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Didn’t Nicki fund her last few singles? She’s gonna have a meltdown
Alak96 Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 (edited) Camila, BTS and Nicki will NEVER see the top 10 again Edited April 21, 2022 by Alak96
