Billboard bans mass buying for digital singles

Billboard have changed their formula on what counts for digital sales on the Hot 100 and genre charts, now if you buy one copy of a digital single one week then that's the only time it counts for the chart at any point. The limit on one copy no longer resets after the tracking week ends. If you buy another digital copy of the single it won’t count even with another card or in another tracking week. Physical copies are up to 4 copies per customer.

Bulk Rules:

Multiple Copies - Digital:

Only 1 purchase of any UPC or ISRC will be counted per customer. If a customer buys more than 1 unit of any particular UPC or ISRC, the sale will be adjusted down to 1 unit.

IMPORTANT: This limitation does NOT reset after a certain period of time.

Multiple Copies - Physical:

If a fan purchases up to 4 copies of a record, each copy is reported as an official sale. If a fan purchases 5 to 9 copies, this results in 4 charting album sales. Purchases of 10 or more albums constitutes a bulk sale, and none count towards the Billboard charts.

IMPORTANT: Only 4 physical copies of a UPC may be reported PER CUSTOMER. Multiple orders by the same customer that add up to more than 4 copies purchased will not result in more than 4 copies reporting.

hopefully this stops army’s reign of terror over the charts with their crowdfunding SCAMS.

The fact that digital sales are so dead and not used at all outside of stans scamming fake chart entries for their artists... the fact that it's come to THIS... embarrassing, for everyone involved, including Billboard

HYBE keeps taking L's this month. It's not going good for them and their biggest boy group.

how can they possibly count physical copies tho?

BoTS will find a way

also, they have to limit the allowed remixes.. cause BoTS will just release 20-30 remixes, same can be said with Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift Remixes
