Definitely a vault track. Give the people something fresh.

Or Bad Blood feat. Katy, if that exists.

For me, there's only one answer that can absolutely guarantee her a #1: Style (feat. Harry Styles)

Release it with a new video that better fits the vibe of the song and it's guaranteed to smash :jonny:

It’s pretty clear at this point that she’s not changing anything about any of the released material (except for maybe that lyric in Better Than Revenge). Girl At Home was a special case as it was an unpopular bonus track that was unknown to the GP and widely disliked by the fanbase. She’d never change up a big hit single by putting him on Style.

That said, it is confirmed that Taylor and Harry wrote songs together when they were dating in late 2012, and they didn’t end up on Red so…. :allears:

I think she’s gonna have to lead with a vault song on this one. Especially since we’re possibly getting very high profile collabs here.

If she does lead with a rereleased song, I actually think it may be Clean. Nobody ever cites it as a “hit that got away” or anything like that, but it is a lowkey classic all the same. It’s the song from the album that other singer songwriters go to; Ingrid Michaelson covered it when Taylor was Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2014 and Sara Bareilles covered it when Taylor recieved the NMPA Songwriter Icon Award in 2021. Notably, it also competes with AYHTDWS to be the most streamed deep cut from the album on a day to day basis.

she shoulda held on to Wildest Dreams TV cause that would have been the bestn

I think it'll be a vault track. She needs something big (that isn't recycling the juggernaut hits of the era) and none of the album tracks could do it

Clean, aka her best song ever.

In all seriousness, she’s probably gonna do a “lead” that’s a fan favorite (Wildest Dreams or Style) or if the Drake collab rumours are true, maybe it.

Original 1989 has an immaculate roll out with all the right singles already. All of the potential is already released, the album tracks are good but not really scream single.

So the best bet is a vault tracks with exciting feature. A Drake collab would be a that summer smash

style deserved way more but i dont think it will pushed as a single

i think it will be a vault track the rest of the standard tracks dont do much

I’m imagining that she’d release the Harry version technically as a “vault” track while also re-recording the solo version and releasing that simultaneously. A bit like All Too Well.

It's honestly my single most anticipated rerecording track left on the four albums still to come :jonny: I think it's basically the most underrated Track 5 in her discography due to it being upbeat.

I'm going to die for her new vocals at "could've been easy" I just know it!

I love this song so much and it hasn't aged at all for me despite listening to it so many times! and yeah it always gets discredited as a track 5, when it was her second best behind ATW until ricochet and tolerate came and casually demolished :dies:

and you mean "could've been easAAAY" :jonny5:
