I'm not as optimistic as some of y'all. Yes, the case should be clearcut in favor of Heard based on the evidence itself, but the gallery was often a circus and reports stated that a few members of the jury seemed to be influenced by it and enamored by Depp. Some members were seen snarling at parts of Heard's testimony.

In order for Johnny to win, you have to believe that:

1. Depp NEVER abused Amber in any way.

2. That Amber wrote that piece deliberately to target Johnny when she never mentioned him by name.

3. That the piece Amber wrote is the reason Depp’s career faltered :rip:

I honestly can’t understand how anyone who has been following the case can believe all three points.

You can have an opinion on who’s the better lawyer and how abusive either was, but regarding the CASE itself, it’s a no brainer.

I agree with 100% on this.

And I personally don't like Amber and I don't trust her at all, but I still don't think she is lying about everything. His team did the best job that they could do with this, but I don't think there is any evidence to convincingly say she committed defamation. Especially not when she consulted with an attorney when writing this article.

TBH I don't think Johnny cares to win this case. He just wanted to win in the court of public opinion to revive his popularity.

I'd estimate the opinions here to be something like:

  • 40% Amber was a victim of abuse.
  • 20% Depp was a victim of abuse and Amber is evil.
  • 20% Both of them are trash and "mutually" abusive.
  • 20% *Posts clickbaity video or tiktok* + laughing emoji (adding nothing to the discussion)

The "both" abusive argument is something I thought at first before actually learning what abuse really is and the dynamics of abuse. I don't think now that two people can be mutually abusive in a relationship. And the only person that had the power to be abusive is Depp.

But going back to the facts of the case, there's no way Depp can be successful here because the statements Amber made weren't defamatory. But I don't think she'll win her counterclaim either.

What is her counterclaim?

I'm European so no clue how American law works - but could anyone inform me how a jury is formed in a civil suit? Is it a panel of experts or just random civilians whom have been called for jury duty?

Jury consists of 2 women and 5 men

I'm pretty certain she's not winning the counterclaim. Best case scenario at this stage is that neither wins, IMO.

Her counterclaim is that Adam Waldmann, acting as Depp's agent, defamed her by making a series of statements to the Daily Mail in which he calls her abuse allegations a "hoax." The judge determined that Waldmann's statements are Depp's statement under the principal-agent theory.

I think she may be able to prove his statements were false and made with malice, but I don't think she's been able to establish that they have caused an actual damage to her career. So it's possible she may win her counterclaim, but not be awarded any damages. Depp will still have to pay a punitive amount.

Amber has 0 chance of winning countersuit. You can bookmark me on this.

As for the defamation claims by Johnny, based on the law, he is most likely not winning. At least not in my opinion, I think he has a 30% shot of winning this case.

He has already won though, I don't think he cared about winning this case. He wanted to win with the public which he is doing. Everyone I know believes she is crazy. The bed pooping story is everywhere.

Juror #2 I spoke of was dismissed, apparently.

I think he will win because it’s Johnny Depp

This a copy of the form the jurors have to fill out to determine the verdict:

FTxZ7FkWIAIy1H0?format=png&name=small

They have to answer YES to every question in 3(a). If there is a NO, then they have to complete 3(a) with a NO and that particular statement is not considered defamatory. If all three statements are found not to be defamatory, that's it.

And remember, a NO in one of those seven points for each statement, means a NO for the entire question of whether it was defamatory.

Jesus it’s obvious as **** that Johnny abused that woman. I hope he loses this defamation case.

All indications suggest that the jurors love Camill (Against popular opinion here). It also explains why her role has increased in this case throughout the trial.

Again, they said the jurors are reacting more towards the attorneys then the people that this case is about (Amber and Johnny). Today however, it is being reported that the jurors are very hard to read.

I can't even take a side but, whenever this guy laughed, it reminded me of the way my stepdad did that sarcastically, when he thinks he's right about everythingand  everyone else is wrong, and you say something and he does that sarcastic, mocking laugh to dismiss your words.

Now I can only see my stepdad in him and that's the reason I don't want him to win :rip: petty I know.

He is not winning this case. Cause I don't think you can for sure say Yes to all these statements.

The statement was made or published by Ms. Heard?

YES - She admitted this.

The statement was about Mr. Depp?

YES -She admitted this.

The statement was false?

Debatable - Will be interesting to see if the jurors think this is false.

The statement has a defamatory implication about Mr. Depp?

Debatable

The statement implication was designed and intended by Ms. Heard?

Debatable

Mine is beyond dumb, it's a stepdad but still, I think it triggers me because I relive those times I tried to talk like an adult and all I got was "you don't know anything, I've seen it all I know it all", try to explain myself and get the exact reaction when Depp looks down and mockingly laughs. I can't help it.
