And this point is nonsense because the victimhood afforded to white women over people of color doesn't apply to white women when white women make accusations against white men because white men's intersecting whiteness and manhood means people willingly believe white men first regardless of facts.

 

The vast majority of men who beat their wives get away with it, especially white men. That's just statistics.

 

There is no point to be made about Amber's race. They're both white. And because he was a man, it was almost always going to end with him facing no legal repercussions, just like with the vast majority of men who commit IPV against women. Again, only a third of DV cases go to trial (this one literally did not) and only a third of those end up not being dismissed due to the uniquely heinous difficulty of documenting DV.

 

There is literally no intersection of identity that puts Amber and Depp at odds outside of that he is a man and she is a woman and men historically get away with intimate partner violence. Race, eye color, left-handedness, favorite color and favorite TV shows quite literally have no impact as both benefit from the same privileges except for where Depp's gender grants him a level of trust by virtue of being a man that is largely denied to women.

 

Now, you can think that Depp didn't abuse her - though evidence of him kicking, dragging, beating and throwing a phone at her validates people feeling otherwise - but trying to beef up the reasons why you swear Amber had some upper-hand~ over Depp doesn't work. A white man beat his white wife and the instant reaction from most of the internet was to call her a gold-digger. People love white men over white women so much that dozens of people in this thread alone honestly believe Amber snorted coke on the stand. Please be quiet.

The jury sucked. Plain and simple. They didn't understand the assignment. They didn't follow the letter of the law. They made a decision based on their own emotions and opinions, rather the facts of the case, and they were likely influenced by the court of public opinion.

No, this was dismissed as nonsense. Amber literally provided veterinary records that showed their dog accidentally consumed Depp's weed previously and was being periodically taken to their vet for stomach problems from the weed being left out for him to eat.  The UK judge literally found the inclusion of the story insulting. People swearing she **** a bed that Depp was not even regularly sleeping in at the time is up there with people thinking she did a line of coke in the court room.

i’m sure Depp hit her, in one way or another. That does make him technically a wife beater.

 

Amber exaggerated their conflict to defame him. She did that by lying about some(most?) of the abuse. And she did that with intend of malice. 
 

That makes her a liar technically as well.
