The MPGs for Gen Z are Billie, Olivia, Dua, Doja and BlackPink(?)

Posted (edited)

How Is Olivia a mpg off one hit era? If that’s the case add Ciara, Fergie, Nelly furtado and 20 others to the list :toofunny3:

The MPGs are Rihanna, Taylor, Beyoncé & Adele. Katy is OUT & Lady Gaga is hanging on by a string and we can possibly add Cardi B & Ariana Grande as new MPG

Anyone that came out within the past 2-3 years still hasn’t proven any type of longevity

The currently relevant main pop girls:

Taylor

Adele

Beyoncé

Rihanna

Gaga

Ariana

Olivia

Billie

Dua, Doja etc. aren’t universally known or succesful enough imo. You can’t be a mpg if you don’t have a #1 hit.

Some of them probably won’t last long tho.

Dua's hits are probably bigger than anything Taylor ever put out tho

I love her, but how is Beyoncé considered a “current” MPG and Dua is not? :rip:

You may single out and laugh at J.Lo, but she’s seen more success and longevity than other girls on this list.

J. Lo had some of the worst longevity ever. Her music career died the minute her payola ended. I’ll give her props for coming back as an actor after her career suicide in 2003.

Lots of girls become MPGs after one era. Britney, Mariah, Christina, Gaga, Beyonce, etc. SOUR is the biggest album of the decade so far (excluding rereleases).

She’s obviously successful, she’s just not as universally known and recognized as a person/icon yet imo. Our parents’ generation mostly has no clue about her existence.

Dua has the biggest overall album this decade, the #1 biggest hit of last year and her first era was already a smash. She’s got 8.4B YT views and 20B Spotify streams - 6 tracks over 1B on Spotify and tomorrow she’ll have 2 videos over 1B on YouTube. There is nobody that doesn’t know her :skull:

This is always confusing to me because imo once a singer becomes a mpg is always a mpg even when she started flopping and that’s because she left a mark but in not sure if this is the common opinion

She was already a Golden Globe nominated actor before she started her music career, but ok. She had both careers simultaneously and has been doing so for 23 years. I’m not claiming she’s a current MPG, neither is more than half on the OP’s list, but let’s not act like she doesn’t have longevity.  Her success may have declined after 2003 but she still had one of the biggest selling songs of het career nearly a decade later and had other hits and best selling tours too. But feel free to ignore that.

In a world where Taylor is successful, anything is possible as it is one of the things that still doesn't make sense.

Y’all are ridiculous coming for JLo when her receipts are literally higher than Xtina’s. A kii I agree. :coffee:

If you list all pop girls, then what’s the point on M (Main) in MPG? Who are the Non-MPGs then? Becky G? Ava Max? Demi Lovato? Robyn?

Every single one of these have some of the biggest songs of all time and considerable multi-platinum success across multiple albums. This is hardly all pop girls. It’s not even 1% of them. :foxaylove2:

MPGs:

Taylor

Ariana

Beyonce

Rihanna

Lady Gaga

On the borderline: Dua, Bullie, Doja, Olivia (Olivia may just flop with her second era tho)

J.Lo was named Billboard's Top Female Artist of 2001, Billboard's Greatest Pop Star of 2001, Billboard's Comeback of the Year of 2011, had the Best Selling Female Single of 2011, had the Most Viewed Female Music Video from 2011-2014 (first female artist to reach 500M, 600M, 700M & 800M views), etc.

In what world would she not be a MPG? From a bunch of uncultured gays from ATRL?

Check out her accomplishments if you're not familiar with her musical impact:

I know. I was tagging you in agreement. :heart2:

The receipts speak for themselves, but somehow ATRL will continue to punch air when it comes to J.Lo.

No one knows anything about her. Her persona isn’t important to her brand. At all.

She’s very succesful commercially, but she isn’t that big of a name yet. What I mean is there’s still plenty of room for her to grow, which is a good thing.
