Victoria Monet - Coastin'

Lush production. Love the summery feel. This song could really POP with a stronger hook and a rap verse.

I don't get the hate for this one. Generic but at least it's listenable

Group C

Rochelle Jordan - Next 2 You | This track is super dancey and I loved the UK bass/house influences throughout her album (the d&b also!). I like the way it works with her vocals, everything is very atmospheric and beautiful

Mahalia & Rico Nasty - Jealous | Fun bop and a new song so early! I liked it!

MEROL - gemengde signalen | I like the beat, gets a little boring after a while though

STAYC - Young Luv | Oh these queens. The chorus is so catchy just like basically everything they do, but I like that the verses are also strong. Just a really good kpop song!

Azealia Banks - Anna Wintour | The '90s dance influence is nice and all but it feels a bit blah and the chorus is really lacking. This was okay

Wolf Alice - Delicious Things | There's a laziness and dreaminess to this I adore, great album!

FLETCHER - Bitter | its like when you really want pepsi and they only have coke

SZA - Prom | I'd add this to a list of formative albums for me, or maybe a list of albums that are just really influential and inspirational. The way she writes lyrics is so endearing despite basically being just her thoughts stream-of-conscious, idk I just like this song/album a lot and there's a sense of bittersweet hope to this that fills me with so much feeling.

Magdalena Bay - Story | It's no Killshot

Yeule - Don't Be So Hard on Your Own Beauty | Winner! The sheer amount of emotion in this is incomparable to almost anything. The way the chorus is just one long thought with no gaps, idk there's something ELSE going on here, this is sheer magic. It makes me so emotional and heartbroken, I relate to it so much idk idk I'm rambling! Probably one of my top five songs of this decade so far

Agnes - Here Comes the Night | Not for me at all sorry, I find it annoying

Caroline Loveglow - Patience Etc... | The production/instrumental is stunning, this song is so gorgeous its like wandering underwater or something adrift. Like... truly an experience.

Kali Uchis - Flight 22 | It's okay sort of boring, feels like filler on a vibey Spotify playlist

aespa - YEPPI YEPPI | perfect quirky kpop, sounds like f(x) - I LOVE IT!

Victoria Monet - Coastin' | It's a nice vibey song, I enjoyed it!!!

Purple Disco Machine - Twisted Mind (feat. Agnes) | It's fine but fairly long and not really for me so I'll have to pass, sorry

Cody William Falkosky & Jason Zachary Paris - Electricity | not this filler ending, is this a royalty free pop song built for YouTube vlogs I-, every lyric feels like its done by an AI that analyzed popular songs

Beach House - Space Song

Really dreamy. Great way to start Group B. I like it.

ROSALÍA - HENTAI

I've always been intrigued with her because she's so liked in ATRL. I may not be a fan of her voice but this is really pleasant and the melodies are enticing.

Posted

Magdalena Bay - Secrets (Your Fire)

Oh, got me hooked with the beat, but the melody is so stale. A great beat won't help a bland song.

Posted

RuPaul - Catwalk (feat. Skeltal Ki)

Kinda similar vibe to Magdalena Bay, and I'm not sure which is more bland.

Posted

Boys World - Something In The Water

This is kinda cool. Basic but cool.

Posted

Foxes - Gentleman

I like this. Her voice is kinda different here than in Clarity, but I'm amused. Love her voice more now.

Posted

EVERGLOW - Pirate

Not really a fan of this type of music, sounds very 2009-ish.
