Not enough lgbtq representation and not the friendliest. I’m trying to find that chart but it makes sorta sense too me. The study also shows a lot of it has to do with many lgbtq people trying to be independent as fast as possible so explains the finance/insurance excellence levels. found it here is a link too friendly lgbtq industries and where gays excel the most. https://hrdailyadvisor.blr.com/2019/02/13/study-reveals-top-lgbtq-friendly-and-unfriendly-industries/ while that is data, as an ATRLer who's currently going through the horrors of med school, I'd like to think medical institutions have become very much more inclusive and accepting in their cohorts. In my batch there are around at least like 10 gay guys and like 20 bi/lesbians, there are specific orgs we join in on and we usually end up grouping together for study sessions and its really just a great environment all around, sure its hell bc of the studying, but at least we all get to universally thirst for the same celebs and stan for girls like kstew. but in all seriousness, i think gay men/women, etc. can excel in anything they want to put their heart into, i know amazing woodworkers who happen to be gay (tho masc presenting), plumbers and electrical engineers who are married in loving marriages. i'm sure the gays can find anything they put their heart into!
Badgalbriel Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 We are usually the top performers in any professions, really.
Subzero Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 Any profession as long as you put in the hard work and do your best

Oxy Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 I don’t associate sexuality with hobbies and profession. So who you are attracted to doesn’t affect where u want to work.
Tropez Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 Fashion design, home interior decorator, stylist, nursing, flight attendant, teacher, make up artist. I think gays excel in a lot of domestic or art/creative focused careers.

I think the data is mostly because of patients. Same I have a couple of gay co-workers and nobody seems to be victim of homophobia in the work force and I haven’t herd any rumors/stories of someone being homophonic to some of the gay co-workers. You are correct lgbtq memebers can be good at any profession they want to join.

diamondsky Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 food and hospitality, servers/waiters or any FOH restaurant position, baristas, customer service, etc... Growing up lgbt can be excellent training for putting on a face and dealing with b*tchy people
Afterglow Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 All of them. Personally, I excelled in IT work at Microsoft and was there 4 years. I ended up leaving because technology is just too much of an involving industry right now. I also coach (and do) competitive cheerleading. I work with hundreds of athletes and teams and consistently place well in competitions. I've also met many gay men in the service and hospitality industries working and managing cruise ships, resorts, restaraunts, etc.
