Pride comes before the fall. All this talk of "Ed should be worried not me, ha!", "They don't make stars like me and others from my generation anymore", "I cancelled my residency a day before when people had already flown because 'my heart wouldn't have been in it'", the hogging the vinyl factories thinking they would sell like last time, diva tantrum when an Australian reporter had not listened to her album....it all catches up to you.

The public has seen through her I'm just a regular cockney mum just like you, what's a Tik Tok?? act and the petulant, spoiled diva beneath has emerged. It takes a lot of ego, disregard for others and selfishness to cancel a residency one day before it was due to begin because you couldn't put on a smile for a performance that you were being paid millions for.

DEMOTED! from Michael Jackson level mega-seller to just another successful pop star, well below the top albums of recent years like FN, Sour, After Hours in overall units and the gap will only get bigger as its stalling on streaming. Her next album is going to give Norah Jones career trajectory teas.

Can we just keep it cute. The album still made massive waves and is a commercial success by all intents and purposes. Was/is it as big as Adele's previous records? No, but it's still impressive in its own way.

Wait wow I thought the claims were exaggerated but this really puts things into perspective

25 was just not as good as 21 and sold massively off of its back. 30 was not as good as 25 and couldn't pull the same trick twice.

If anyone was curious, given the bump, it landed at #51 on the official BB200

I disagree completely, 30 is miles better than 25… which was basically a retread of 21

Yeah I’m an Adele fan and it’s a good album but this era is a total dud and it is definitely not her best album by any means.  She needs to switch up her sound.

I agree. She's done literally nothing with the album in the US besides that US special...BEFORE the album release :skull:

No night show interviews or performances

No morning show interviews or performances

No SNL

No Grammy performance

No social media engagement

NOTHING :rip:

She literally did not lift a finger to promote this album in the US after its release. It's so weird.

CIGI is not strong enough to revive interest IMO. The production is so bland and 2012 P!nk'd.

The best thing to salvage this era would be a re-release with a brand new lead single. Five new songs in total, and with limited edition vinyl and CDs for the reissued album. And she needs to promote and figure out a way to salvage the Vegas thing. If I were her I would have refunded flights and hotel stays out of my own pocket for the people who travelled, that gave her so much horrible PR she had never experienced before.

Reading this makes me realise how much of a bad person someone can be. Like it's really unethical and botherline straight out cruel / sociopathic like... she cancelled a show just to throw tantrums, simultaneously WASTED OTHER PEOPLE, who are miles poorer,'S MONEY. If I was a stan I would unstan immediately. Imagine if 1 of my faves did that :rip:

Is the rest all male artists? Is there that little demand for female ones?

When they start making great albums consistently. Billie needs to start pumping out albums every year bc she’s the only one doing anything worth listening to!

Is next week going to be out of Top 100 :dancehall2:

that ‘Adele’s 30 departs the BB200’ thread is gonna be a mess in a month or two :bibliahh:

I don't mean to sound mean but I litterly got 25 copies of 25 Christmas that year and I still have them and I don't want them. Then they are at pawn shops now

She's libra over because it was hype at 25 and I tell everyone not to buy me an Adele album because I don't like that type of music.

If you go to goodwill stores you can get 25 for 25cents basically

She's been releasing non-stop since 2016 though. Non-stop droplets, soundtrack singles and an EP up to her debut in 2019, then non-stop droplets for another year and a half, then HTE. In fact I think the 9 months since the album came out is the longest she's gone without a brand new single.

Honestly though! A lot of the criticism of Adele this era has nothing to do with the commercial or critical reception of her album, but the cancellation and attitude this era has been off putting.

True actually. She just excels with bodies of work so I’m being greedy. But I’ve absolutely loved everything consistently from EIW through to today. She’s really hit her stride.

We’ll see how her next record performs in 2027:rip:

She won't do another studio album of originals until she's in her 50s, her next will either be an orchestral re-recording of her greatest hits or a covers album.

Well, goodbye to her career then. Can’t say she’ll be missed much, her music is painfully mediocre. Never got the hype.

Woah, never would I have ever thought that Billie's album would ever be more consistent and stable on the BB200 charts than an Adele album :deadbanana2:
