dirrtydiana Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 I hope that the omission of Janet’s 2008 Discipline album was because it’s the least dated ot: Katy’s tbh
JoeAg Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Hard Candy and from a lyrical standpoint, One of the Boys (though I'll still bop to I Kissed a Girl here and there lol, and Mannequin and Thinking of You are bangers too)
Jooj Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Surprisingly, HC is the least dated record of the bunch Circus isn't that dated The Fame is dated in a good way One Of The Boys would low-key still smash nowadays Sasha Fierce "wins" this one.

I like Circus as an album and I am a Britney fan but let's be real, half of her covers are just garbage head shots and Circus is one of them.
Trash Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 The Fame but it doesn't mean that we can't enjoy it, idk why stans act so defensive about it.

I kinda agree w this HC is still enjoyable for me ... beat Goes on, she's not me, give it 2 me stood the test of time very well The Fame is very representative of it's time. Like u said, it's dated but when u hear it, u feel nostalgic tbh, it's good dated ... Poker Face, Paparazzi are iconic IASF had the iconic Single Ladies and Halo, but I rarely hear it. The Beyhive and fanbase moved from it too. if we want a good dated B album, we have BDay. If we want quality, we have 4. Sasha Fierce is neither. Circus is pretty fun, but at the same level as Sasha Fierce for me
sourtwink Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 people saying the fame when the reason it sounds “dated” is because it was so trendsetting that everyone copied it for the next few years anyways, the answer is circus or hard candy
Dystopian Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 they’re all incredibly dated, but ootb sounds the best rn because pop rock is having a resurgence. good 4 u by olivia is very reminiscent of hot n cold.
FOCK Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 In order of dated-ness The Fame Hard Candy One of the Boys I Am = Circus The production on I Am and Circus is quite varied and not limited to "one" particular trend, which helps.
Protocol Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 I have to say it's The Fame, it really sounds of its time. Some of those RedOne synths are just One of the Boys has aged better especially now pop-rock is current again. IASF has some really dated production on the Sasha side, but the I Am... folk soul production is pretty timeless. Circus is the second most dated after The Fame or a tie with it. The title track aged really well and still hits hard but the rest is a mixed bag, some really late 00s sounds there. "If U Seek Amy" sounds so cheap today. Hard Candy aged shockingly well, a lot of it still sounds very fresh, "Dance 2Night" could be a Future Nostalgia song.

This Garage Band'd percussion and those sawtooth synths in the chorus Still a bop of course but the production screams 2008. This is the 00s equivalent of a Cyndi Lauper album track from the 80s. Aggressively of its time.

That makes it dated. ATRL is always claiming this for The Fame when it reality it sounded so fresh back in 2008 and it set so many trends, that doesn't make it dated, it makes it a trendsetter and an iconic album THIS!!!
HïFidelity Posted April 17, 2022 Posted April 17, 2022 (edited) Circus… it sounded like 2005 even in 2008. Edited April 17, 2022 by HïFidelity

I literally stan Gaga, but no tea no shade, "Tik Tok" and "Your Love Is My Drug" have aged a lot better than The Fame singles. Whatever drum kick Dr Luke used in those still hits just as hard whereas those RedOne and Rob Fusari production sound like tins and pots nowadays. Her budget obviously increased with Fame Monster though because that album has aged super well.
