Khal Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 After watching Triangle of Sadness, all the noms are even more bizarre to me The middle act on the yacht has to be one of the dumbest attempts at social commentary (yes I got what he was going for) I've seen and just made me appreciate how good Parasite had to be to pull off what it was going for. What a waste of a film.

hausofdave Posted February 19, 2023 Author Posted February 19, 2023 RIP to The Fabelmans. If it goes home empty handed as expected now, this will only be the second TIFF People’s Choice winner that was nom for BP to not win an Oscar if it goes home empty handed. Last time it happened was The Big Chill (1984). It will also be first GG Best Drama winner to go home empty handed since The Turning Point (1978 ).
fridayteenage Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 (edited) yeah white men can be dumb. like the one who made a movie about a predatory lesbian with racist undertones. but anyway, go Kwan! And Yeoh/Quan of course! Edited February 19, 2023 by fridayteenage

Kylizzle Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 The simple-mindedness of thinking you need to like a character in order for the movie to be good Excited to see who wins the actress BAFTA after all.
