I will get laughed at for saying this but Natalie La Rose's last single was a Max Martin track, and then she was literally never heard from again. He is an amazing producer obviously but it doesn't guarantee anything.

 

You could argue Lizzo is really a niche artist who crossed over with two songs and is more like a two-hit wonder to the general public. Because while I think this could've been catchier, it is well produced and already had major promo, and those streams are tragic. If a decent lead single is doing this badly how will a whole album do? Where is the fanbase?

The amount of promo Lizzo has had.. it's sad to see the song underperforming... Lizzo's debut era was old songs that peaked later... so it will be interesting to see if she can attain a ''new'' hit
