I discovered a nice hack for people who don't like doing cardio after workout. I stopped listetning to music when I do weights and only allow headphones when I'm doing cardio and this made anticipate it and want to do it moreΒ :chick1:Β It works

I've been kinda keeping track every now and then, not huge changes but small. I think I notice the biggest changes with the clothes I wear

yes but I always feel like I'm measuring wrong lol. But I measured myself few days ago and it showed some progress so that's good I guess

I see, I've always liked it as a measure of progress and it's good to know that I'm not alone in that.

You should do measurements after working out and on your rest days so you have more data that way

I always forget that this thread exists but omg I've been so good this whole f*cking year about going to the gym every other night at LEAST. I'm so proud of my gains, especially with my biceps and triceps and chest area, but being as small of a guy as I am (I'm only 5'6Β :gaycat4:) my abs/tummy can fluctuate in appearance very easily with my metabolism lol. also bulking is so hard when I'm this broke 🫠 but ANYWAY! I'm about to max out on the triceps press (currently 240, maxes out at 242.5) and the biceps curl (currently 205, maxes out at 207.5 lol)Β :eli:Β so I'm definitely gonna keep it up through this summer, and maybe I'll keep up my membership at planet fitness when I move at the end of the summer. my best friend typically goes with me, but tonight I went alone cause he was too tired lol! anyway, I've also finally been working on my forearms with barbell curls, and my gym has a "smith machine" which is kind of like a weird quasi-bench for some reason so I'm starting on that too. low row… will always be my fav i fear. currently at 150 on there

So what do I need to know about creatine?

Drink a **** ton of water so you don't dehydrate. If you have a fast metabolism and already have trouble drinking enough water daily then be careful when on creatine or it will cause issues. I experienced this first hand when I started creatine when I was like 20yo and randomly started passing outΒ :rip:

it's annoying that it takes 4x the amount of effort to build muscle vs if you were to use TRT or other roids.Β

Β

but i'd rather slow muscle growth than health problems & aging down the road

I struggle with time and energy a lot. Being on a cut makes working out so hard when you also have a full time job...Β

Definitely, I'm more consistent now but when I first started going to the gym + work I would usually just do Friday Sat and Sunday

Ugh introducing cardio again and I hate that I'm seeing rapid results :rip:

I don't want to have to keep doing it!!!Β

Don't king - we all have our ups and downs with our training but consistency is truly truly key. Ride it out, switch things up, maybe take it a little easier. You'll get back into the swing of it.

I know you can't take it on prep, or if you do you need a monthly blood test which is a pain in the ass.

Convinced myself to go to the gym today and did it.:clownny:

That's 4 times this week which means I don't have to go until Tuesday:ryan3:

I've been making great progress over the last couple of months, especially. It seems like the hours spent in the gym are finally starting to pay off. I'm thinking about topping it off with using creatine. I don't want to be too bulky, but I'd like to see just a little bit more size on me.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a beginners at home workout to build muscle? I'll go buy dumbbells if I need to...just asking here before I search reddit/Google

I've been at it for almost 2 years but I don't see any major differences :rip:

Β

I always give it my all, eat plenty of protein but I am not losing weight nor gaining muscle.Β

Would you be willing to buy a bench? You can do a lot more dumbbell exercises that hit multiple muscle groups with it

Do you try to go to failure? Do you keep track to try and progressively increase the weight?

Posted (edited)

Hey guys! Beginning this week I'm trying to create the habit of working out and my main goal is weight loss, any recommendations to maintain a healthy lifestyle? I've had my ups and downs with going to the gym, so I consider myself fairly new and I'm mostly doing cardio on the elliptical (it's done wonders when I've been consistent). For now I'll try to do 30 minutes, 4 times a week at least while I get accustomed and a healthy diet is easy for me to keep, except socially lol so I need to balance it out with exercise, any tips are very welcome!

Yes to both. It's just not happening for me... I don't know why. I steadily increase weight and volume.
