The movie event of the year. Denis is going balls to the wall with this. Absolute insanity. The grand scale and majesty of this war epic won't be matched by anything else in 2023.

These shots are just astounding. That above shot of Paul walking through the massive crowd! Looked like grains of sand. Masterful.

Pretty soon since the teaser trailer, but pretty smart for WB to put this full trailer out right before the next batch of summer blockbusters (Indy/Barbie/Oppenheimer/MI7) releases. Tons of eyes and this trailer absolutely delivers, my god. This should absolutely be able to attract more demos.

But my god if they don't move this up a week or two.. how idiotic. Just 7 days of IMAX play.

@James_Dean update header so everyone knows this new incredible trailer is here! :duca:

Do u know how much view it got on Tik tok? They're dooming it in BoT saying it has low hype? @BNF91

People were dooming the first film as well. I wouldn't bother with them.

I don't have tiktok I don't know.

YouTube official uploads for trailer 2 after 4 days has crossed 41M views and still going strong (+10M in the past 24 hours).

Despite no longer being trending, it seems WOM for the trailer has helped it continue to gain views considerably.

Just under 18M for the US trailer (and moving slow as it is the middle of the workday), but the views on uploads for international territories is still moving briskly. 23M views and gaining about +400k an hour still.

These were my calculations of all the official trailers (YouTube only), trailer 2 is having much better staying power.

Trailer 1 views after day 1- 23M (59M total after 2 months, no longer gaining)

Trailer 2 views after day 1- 11.3M (41M total after 4 days, still gaining each hour)

Let the trailer do it's magic. We've got a whole summer of screenings (Barbie, Oppenheimer, Mission Impossible, Gran Turismo) that this trailer will get played before.

International uploads are about to fly past 25M views, still doing about 250k an hour.. it is having some nice longevity for a trailer that's for sure!

Trailer 2 official YouTube uploads fly past 50M. That's another 9M+ views in the past 30 hours. Very strong staying power so far for trailer 2.

It is still just flying in some countries. No signs of slowing down yet. Still +250k an hour.

+6.2M in the last 24 hours. 56M views for official trailer 2 just on YouTube. Should pass the first trailer within the next day.

It is still funny to see people doubt this movie, the same ones doubted that the sequel will even get made.

Damn not 3 hours AND 15 minutes :deadbanana4:

Dune would've worked better as a series, preferably by HBO

But since they're planning only 3 movies, I kinda understand why they're not wasting their time on the series

I definitely see how it could have been adapted as a series, honestly I'm glad it didn't considering the messy production The Sisterhood show is currently having.

IMAX CEO comments on the delay rumors and confirms exclusive IMAX deal in their earnings call

Omar Mejias -- Wells Fargo Securities -- Analyst

That's very helpful. And maybe I think you alluded to this on your prepared remarks, but there were recent media reports talking about that Warner Brothers was strongly considered moving the release day for Dune. I just wanted to get your thoughts on what is your confidence that that won't be the case. Or just your thoughts in general, what's the likelihood of this happening? And if so, what other options are you considering for the replacement for the Dune slot and just in general on the back half of the year?

Richard Gelfond -- Chief Executive Officer

Right. Dune, specifically, I mean, there's another great movie coming out around in time, which is the marvel from Marvel, and we can't play it because we are committed to Dune. So, Dune moves will just go over to the marvels, and having a Marvel movie as a backup is not the worst position to be in the world. But in terms of doom, my own opinion is that it's highly unlikely to move, and it's an educated opinion, meaning I spent a lot of time on the facts.

So, Dune is already in the midst of a marketing campaign. There are trailers out. There's lots of materials out. They had a big presentation, a lot of the conferences.

As a matter of fact, the Denis Villeneuve presented at the IMAX CEO Forum. So, it's kind of out of the gate. So, if you put it back in the game, you've got to duplicate those expenses at some time in the future of putting it out of the gate. In addition, Dune has a very long run time in IMAX, up to five or six weeks.

And it just was fortuitous that there were no other conflicting projects. But if they were to move that to next year and some time, it's highly unlikely that they would have that amount of run time. And just to remind you, IMAX was about 20% of the growth on Dune 1. And I know there's a lot of marketing plan on Dune 2.

If they move Dune 2, there's a carrying cost, call it 10% or whatever it is. So, how are they going to make up for that cost across the other incremental costs? The IMAX release is a really important element to their release pattern. And as I said just a minute ago, I don't think it's replicable for them to have that kind of run time again. So, when I look at it from their point of view, from a dollars and cents numbers perspective, it just doesn't make any sense to me that they would move it because -- and again, the only reason they would move it is they'd say, the actors strike is going on, and they want to get a premier and put it on the Tonight Show or whatever they put the actors, but with no disrespect to Timothee Chalamet.

Are you going to be able to make up for losing the six-week IMAX release? Are you going to be made up the cost of capital and carrying it for a year? Are you going to move it to an uncertain year when you have no idea what's going to be put against you when they have virtually no competition right now in the marketplace? It doesn't really make any sense. When you look at the other movies, I think that's one of the most compelling not to move. But you could go through all of them and the same logic kind of applies. I think I've talked to the distributor that Warner Brothers, they don't know where that article can go in the press.

And I don't -- they've certainly told me that that article is not true. So, all I can do is give you my logical perspective on it, but I feel quite strongly that it's not going to move.

Omg pleaseeee it deserves.

Would serve Marvel right for being lame and putting The Marvels in the Nov 10 slot.

Looks absolutely epic :jonny5:

Postponing till March 1st was a smart choice. The whole March + the IMAX screens will basically belong to them with zero competition for the whole month, if not more

Timothée's career is really on fire right now. Him becoming the new face of Chanel's main male fragrance, Wonka turning out to be a surprise hit at the box office, him scoring his 3rd Golden Globe nomination and Dune 2 is upon us too… :jonny2:

The best trailer yet. Absolutely enthralling. That updated Atreides theme is bliss. Uplifting and epic. Feyd is looking perfect shame on me for doubting Austin Butler.

It's all giving ROTK epicness. This needs to dominate March.
