It's been so long since I saw the show but I don't recognise half of these characters. Are they new?

yes. they're introducing new main characters + Mat's actor was changed.

Most of the reviews I'm seeing are pretty positive and everyone agrees it's so much better than s1

IT'S OUT

Watched the first two episodes so far. I miss the group but very strong episodes.

really interesting second episode, stronger than the premiere that's for sure. I think it's better than s1 already but we'll see how events unfold

Strong 3 EPs, big improvement on S1. A lot of deviation from the books but I mostly understand why and I'm enjoying it for what it is.

Masema though :flame: I wasn't ready to want him like this :clownny:

i had a hard time watching the first episode because it was so much drama and i forgot names and stuff. Let's see the second episode. I keep reading good things

I'm so confused. Is Liandrian working with the Dark One? :deadbanana: I feel I should have waited until all episodes are out before watching but alas, here we are.

I am so confused. Why was she on a crusade against men in the first season then? :deadbanana2: is this something that happens in the books also? I assume she has a good reason :rip:

Mess I was starting to love her scheming, bitchy ass

I was equally confused, so I read up on this on the Wikia page of the show/books because I have also not read the books.

Basically, there is a secret “Black Ajah“ within the White Tower. Members of the Black Ajah are Darkfriends who act as members of the regular Ajah (in Liandrin‘s case, she is a Red Ajah on the surface, but secretly a Black Ajah). The Black Ajah have their own three oaths that replace the official three oaths, so members of the Black Ajah are not bound by the official three oaths. The Black Ajah wants to weaken the other Ajah, for example by keeping promising Aes Sedai away from the White Tower, to prevent them from fighting against the Dark One. The other Ajah are not aware that the Black Ajah actually exists, it is only a myth at this point.

The new season is good, imo! I thought the first really fell off at the halfway point, so we'll see how it progresses but the characters are all more compelling this time around (except for Egwene lol).

The older cast is still acting circles around the younger ones. Rosamund Pike just elevates every scene she's in. But also Liandrin is a scene stealer, and she has become my favourite character I think.

I love the Aie Sedai politics and scheming, so I'm hoping the show continues to zoom in on that aspect.

Omg no way  does that mean Liandrin sent Nynaeve through the arches with the intention of killing her? I'm so hyped for the next episode

Wait, that‘s an interesting thought. I have not even thought about that, but it would certainly be possible. Also note how Ishamael “coincidentally“ appears in Min‘s dreams after Liandrin sent her and Mat away.

The women in this show are gay icons tbh. Mother Lanfear, Queen Liandrin and now Aviendha of the Legendary House of Aiel :jonnycat:

Slow start, but its starting to get better. :jonny5:

the first 3 episodes were slow to the point that it got boring but it's starting to pick up now

Tbh I'm starting to get confused by all of the storylines going on, but I'm still invested ddddd :bibliahh: also it's been a while since S1 came out, so I've also forgotten A LOT :deadbanana2:

The show is really hitting its stride. Every plotline has something going for it, the forsaken are utterly compelling and the production value just seems bigger and better.

Lanfear is a bit of a camp icon for the faguettes, me thinks. Casually decapitating people on the way to get her man whilst constantly being ready for the runway.

Moraine's conversations with Anveare breath life into the show: with the high stakes and few episodes, it is hard for the humanity to come to the surface, but in those little moments the realness just really hits. Both absolutely fabulous actresses too.
