I think it’s mostly because they’re not simply doing an upgraded version of Factions. I assume those elements (Supply Raid, Survivor and Interrogation) will still be accessible in some way, but it sounds like they were making a co-op / single player game, it was described by insiders as being similar to The Division.

You can tell by the above quote that they’re working on something big. I’m not sure if you’ve played The Division before, but that comparison makes me extremely excited. The thought of having a huge new TLOU campaign that I can play with real people sounds incredible.

I hope Naughty Dog never releases any multiplayer games. If it becomes a money making machine, it will ruin them as it did with many great companies like Blizzard, Rockstar etc

 

Focus on delivering groundbreaking and ahead of the time single player experiences.

Re: Factions I also think that it comes down to 

- the C-Suite being preoccupied with the development and press tour of the HBO show and its continuation

- The Part I port, even if they did not do it

- and maybe perhaps a story DLC that will come with the multiplayer(?) - this is just wishful thinking tbh.

And re: the showcase itself, yeah it was underwhelming af. I still don't really feel that the new generation of consoles is really here, and not inclined to buy PS5 either - which says a lot since I'm a fan. Maybe in two years it will actually have an exclusive lineup that is tempting enough, at this point I'll just wait for the PS5 Pro.

No I know it's not just a Factions 2 (meaning same formula, but improved), but even then it feels like they're taking so much to even present this experience to the public considering that they already had most of the stuff ready. I think they bit more than they could chew (for it to be released in the previous two years, at least) and they faced serious challenges at some point, but hopefully it's all in the past since Druckmann promised news during this year.

 

I've played The Division and I'm not a big fan of the co-op missions and Dark Zone experience because they become repetitive very quickly, but that might be just me and I can recognise it was innovative when they were introduced some years ago. I hope the new multiplayer experience won't focus too much on that, otherwise I will stick to the PvP game modes (which are what I'm waiting for the most anyway).

I think they’ll make it stronger than The Division, just because the world of TLOU is already so much more interesting. Whatever it is they come out with, I just hope they keep the classic Factions mode with it because I still play that MP today and it’s held up extremely well. It’s just such a unique PvP shooter and I can’t think of a single MP that’s been like it which just goes to show Naughty Gods power! 
 

I have a feeling they want something like GTA5 that will thrive for years and be able to keep being updated. Even though I know it’ll be worth the wait, I was disappointed that we didn’t get even a small teaser at this years showcase.

I hope the mulitplayer game goes down in flames. I hate MP games (besides an occasional cute Overwatch 2 match). Focus on the single player game thats what we WANT.

Remember if you're playing Alan Wake but not watching Night Springs at every single opportunity the game presents it to you then you're playing it wrong. Night Springs was one of my favorite things about Alan Wake some episodes got me shook!

I’ve been watching every episode and also listening to the radio broadcasts. I finished episode 4 today and it was such a great one, I especially loved the part where Barry is hosting a rock n roll show whilst you defend the stage.

Bought my PS5 in March - Hogwarts Legacy was the first and Ghost of Tsushima was the second game I played. Both slap hard, enjoy!
