I'm still seeing a $60-62M 3-day. Still #5/6 best 3rd wknd of all time. In fact new, more concrete update just came in. $22.5-23M Friday. Still fantastic. $4-5M ahead of Rogue One's Friday. Still hoping to eclipse Rogue One soundly and stop haters from using it as a comp.
Reverse Warholian Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Serving at the box office! I can't believe this stands a chance at clearing 2B omg @The Witch @Walk_Away21
vuelve88 Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Pretty good box office numbers for an indie film

Oh, yeah it's done with Rogue One at this point. After this weekend, fan-heavy Rogue One started falling off a cliff with less GP showing up. Avatar is the epitome of a GP, 4-demo film. It won't have the same legs as the first during January and February, but we should expect excellent legs nonetheless. This weekend will already be about $10-12M bigger than R1.

I can’t see it going further than 1.65B by the end of next weekend, but hopefully I’m wrong. $1.65B by end of weekend 4 would lock up $2B. Though I already think it's locked. I'm in $2.1B+ world now lol. 16 hours ago, znake said: my theater started clapping after whale scene it was so fun i want a PS5 game so bad Girl Frontiers of Pandora is coming 2023.. you not seen the trailer? brooklyndaddy Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 (edited) I hope this doesn’t come off as ableist or distasteful but during my screening, an adult, who had come with his caretaker, got up in the middle of one of the dreamy, floaty, serene swimming sequences and blurted out to the whole theatre “I DON’T LIKE THIS MOVIE”, got up, and stormed out of the theatre, with the caretaker running after him Edited December 31, 2022 by brooklyndaddy

mystery Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 1.243b with Friday numbers. Should go up to 1.3b with Saturday and then 1.4b with Sunday or Monday numbers.
Bloodflowers. Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 8 hours ago, BNF91 said: Friday number is looking goooooood.. comps currently suggest $23.5-25M. If $25M happens, we might be in store for the 2nd biggest 3rd weekend of all-time in the US/Canada with $70M+. Even ahead of the first Avatar ($68M). Crazy, and it's a damn New Years when people are out to party instead of sitting for 3 hours at the cinema

Donquizote Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 I think 2B is possible now, which is crazy since Avatar 3 is guaranteed to be pure profits for Disney.
