I've said this 97509247501275012 times at this point (sorry for anyone sick of hearing me say this ) but do all villains, all seamstresses, all comedy queens, all LSAs, ect. And then tailor the challenges of that season to whatever theme and cast you have. Spill! I've been saying they need to start doing themed All Stars for awhile now, cause AS5/6/8 were really not it. I also wouldn't mind if they did season vs. season. S5 vs S12, with five queens from each season, or something of the sort. 1
GoodGuyGoneGhetto Posted April 22 Posted April 22 (edited) Well, what would a "themed" all stars season do for the franchise? For example, an "All Villains" season would be good for the fans and viewers as well as social media engagement and memes but how exactly is it going to elevate a queens career from the regular season or all stars? "Please welcome Daya Betty - Winner Of RuPaul's Drag Race - All Villains". I couldn't take that seriously. Moreover, an "All Villians" season could literally open the doors for certain queens to receive more hate online, especially if production edits them a certain way. They're not all going to be automatically liked. Edited April 23 by GoodGuyGoneGhetto

Three seasons in a row, with the exception of All Winners, were kind of... eh. Producing all stars season on a yearly basis doesn't work, cause there are only several stars in AS seasons nowadays. I agree that all villains seasons wouldn't work, especially with how toxic RPDR fandom is.
Raphy23 Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Do we think another All Winners all star season is coming soon?

And then tailor the challenges of that season to whatever theme and cast you have. For example, I bet a lot of the strong seamstresses would love to come back if they were solely fighting for the title of the ultimate "fashion queen". Several challenges could obviously focus of just designing and creating looks with unconventional materials, some could be focused on solely designing a look without having to create it (maybe they have to design the look based on materials that they can only feel but can't see?). Maybe each of the cast has to write down a description of a design they've thought up and then those get randomly distributed for the other queens to make. Throw a ball or two in there. Maybe a makeover challenge where they bring in RuGirls who notoriously can't sew, pair them up with the contestants, and then only the non-seamstresses are allowed to touch the sewing machines and make the garments throughout the challenge. The real test would be which contestant can best teach a non-seamstress how to sew in a short amount of time. And then any of the usual staple challenges (like snatch game) get axed for that season unless they can somehow make it where sewing is the skillset being judged. And worst come to worst, they could just knock off Project Runway. Maybe it would get old after a while. But if they're sticking with non elim AS going forward, I'd rather watch a season where all the contestants have the same strong suit and are competing against each other in their respective elements (or make good TV in the case of All Villains) than watch a season where have the cast gets dragged through 12 episodes with forced positivity (even if they bomb a challenge). This is simply not realistic. As a viewer, I can barely go through the balls on regular seasons since 70% of the episode is filler workroom talk. Who wants that for 8-10 episodes back-to-back? Rigalo Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I don't want "archetype" themed AS (Comedy queens only would actually be the death of me) but I think certain ideas like "battle of the seasons" where they have girls from 2-4 different seasons in more of a team based format or a "UK vs US" kind of thing would be cute. 1
GoodGuyGoneGhetto Posted April 23 Posted April 23 8 hours ago, Raphy23 said: Do we think another All Winners all star season is coming soon? Certainly not within the next year or two, at least. They've already started pre-production on AS10 and S17 and Global All Stars is now a series that I think they'll want to focus on for a while to be honest.

This was basically the first season UK vs The World and that was terrible, but if the girls can come in as teams and have runways and packages intertwined.. like a better version of All Stars 1 I'd be here for it.
Shinning Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Im excited for the cast but I'm ngl the non-elimination format is dragging my excitement down. I just think it lowers the stakes and the girls inevitably get comfortable. And it doesn't make sense to have it for non-Winners considering these girls don't already have crowns.

GoodGuyGoneGhetto Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) 1 hour ago, Rigalo said: Did we already know this season is for charity??!! Well, according to what I've just read on reddit, the queens compete for a grand prize of $200K and $100K go to a charity of their choice. (@Aston Martin can confirm). Aside from that, they all got paid a $50K runway fee + a $25K appearance fee, and this is a non-elimination season… To be honest, putting the annoying format issues aside, this season probably has more money involved for the queens than any other. dumbsparce Posted April 23 Posted April 23 There's sth about the Paramount promo pics that just screams they'll be on Paramount lol but I can't put my finger on it. Meanwhile, VH1 and MTV promos aren't differentiated at all.

ATRL Moderator Unoriginal Posted April 23 ATRL Moderator Posted April 23 We definitely knew the season was for charity but I think we thought the queens got money too whereas the press release makes it sound like they don’t?
Relampago. Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I was annoyed that it would be non-elim at first but honestly there were low stakes, at least it felt like it, in AS8 too. And those girls were dropping like flies, Kasha giving up, Heidi throwing a b*tch fit, etc. I think there's pretty low stakes for AS in general now, Jimbo was really the main girl who seemed to want it last season. I'd rather there be low stakes where the girls actually compete without being annoying and bratty, even if it means they're a little more lax. Best case scenario would be high stakes elimination but the fact these girls are able to have careers without AS now kinda makes it inherently low stakes.

We've always know there was a charity element involved but only last week did we get the spill that there was no cash prize and it was only all for charity even the ls win cash tip is for their charity There's also no lows/bottoms, it's AS7 2.0 again
Aston Martin Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Episode 1: Drag Queens Save the World Episode 2: The Paint Ball Episode 3: Snatch Game of Love Episode 4: Smokin' Hot Firefighter Makeover Episode 5: Property Queens These are the episode titles for the first five episodes of AS9 (taken from Reddit). Seems to contract a lot of Anon. 2's tea (from the AS9 tea checker) that said that Ep. 1 was a design challenge and Gottmik gets 2 wins.

Lord Gaga Posted April 24 Posted April 24 When the tea spill is that Nina and mik are the top 2 what then????

Rumored win counts: 4: Roxxxy and Plastique 3: Angeria and Nina (maybe Jorgeous) 2: Shannel and Vanjie (maybe Jorgeous) 1: Gottmik last I heard. There's a spiller saying Gottmik has 2 wins, but that same spiller said that the first episode was a design challenge which apparently isn't the case. Top 3 seems to be Roxxxy, Angeria, and Vanjie. Nina apparently wins some Queen-of-Queens title (similar to MC, voted on by the other queens). My guesses for the winners for the 1st 5 episodes based on the tea we have: Ep. 1: Roxxxy and Angeria Ep. 2: ? and ? (maybe Roxxxy and Plastique idk) Ep. 3: Nina and Gottmik Ep. 4: Plastique and Jorgeous Ep. 5: Shannel and (Vanjie?) Edited April 24 by Aston Martin
