The Real Housewives: The Megathread

I like Angela, but Porsha and Shamea CANNOT carry this show. It is just missing that spark since Nene left. With Kenya there, it at least wasn't as noticeable, but this episode it was glaring. I will continue watching for Phaedra's return I guess… :michael:

After hearing that one of Kenya's friends Ming Lee has had sexually explicit photos on her phone of Brit for over 10 years I lowkey am starting to believe Kenya did have preconceived notions about her. That combined with Porsha saying someone who had appeared on the show had given Kenya the photos it just seems odd.

I cannot connect with Brit as I have been with Kelli and Angela so far, regardless of this whip/photo incident with Kenya, I just can't see it with Brit

hopefully she brings more personality…

RHOA has become horrible. It is unwatchable for me no matter how Andy and the propaganda machine want to convince me otherwise.

It started off strong but has flattened for sure.

Yes, RHOA is just not what is needs to be. Even with Kenya there for a few episodes and last season she can't pull all of this dead weight. Kenya is best when she has a formidable opponent.

Porsha wants to be Nene but she doesn't have what Big Sis has. Porsha is an excellent side character that gets the spotlight here and there but when it's surrounded by her it just falls flat.

Shamea (who I root for) is worse because at least Porsha has a personality that's polarizing. Shamea is great but the only reason she's elevated is to show the life Porsha was unable to and to cause a rift between the two...it's possible that it's fake or exaggerated and will be resolved by the reunion.

I'm glad Kelli and Angela are working out.

Cynthia is Cynthia. Phaedra will be just as dry.

In a perfect world, Nene would be able to return accept she burned a bridge...Sheree would be a good friend of and Kenya would return and they'd serve as the trinity OGs while other newbies come in and make their mark. Each have strengths the other lacks.

Without Kenya/Nene/Sheree on the show, this show will continue to miss the IT factor.

People buying into some scheme that Todd set up to bring us the bullish is hilarious.

How soon people forget:

Brit talked crap about Kenya and Porsha before filming started talking about how she wasn't afraid to set the OGs straight if she needed to.

Did Kenya need anything more than that to be nicer to the other girls who didn't talk crap in the press.

it was clear as day that Kelli was assigned to go after Porsha and her marriage to the scammer and Brit was assigned to go after Kenya.

The difference is Kelli isn't unbalanced. She was shady and things kept moving.

Pistol whipper just couldn't take that her comments to the press were enough for Kenya to be easy on her.

Bravo has now stepped in it not because people justify Kenya's bad actions but because they did NOTHING. So they just let Brit threaten Kenya multiple times and didn't even say they had a conversation with her...Brit either came up with the fake apology herself or production came in to force her to apologize which was insincere but that's not even close to what would be done if anyone of us got upset with a coworker and at an event threatened gun violence. Being forced to apologize would have been the least to do.

Anyways, it's downhill from here.

I'm not getting all the negativity, with the exception of Brit the newbies are great so far and I've found the season to be really entertaining.

yes, i'm getting people seem to enjoy Angela/Shamea/Kelli etc. I think it's not giving enough and giving love and hip hop but I do think they are having good conversations/scenes.

People want an OG that can hold this group up...if only Nene didn't burn her bridge and call andy a cola head.

i do love the RHOA newbies.

I have no idea how Drew has lasted as long as she has, let alone survived 2 reboots :deadbanana2:

Drew despite having all the Dennis/Ralph drama is still forgettable. I keep forgetting about her.

Sutton was never Garcelle's friend. If she were a real friend she would've immediately followed Garcelle and talked to her. Just standing there with the rest of the birds (except Boz and Tilly. This is their first season so I'm not too critical of HWs' and friends' first seasons). Forever one of my all time favorite HWs. Can't wait to see what's next for Garcelle.

Hope next season Sutton gets ate tf up once again but also hoping we get some new HWs and friends that can go head to head with Kyle and Dorit. Let this be Erika's last season ffs.

I've been enjoying the season so far I think the negativity just comes from people wanting Kenya to be on the season but I don't think shes needed.

100%. Kenya definitely elevates a show but the current dynamic is also very engaging and a good template of how they should reboot shows moving forward (if that's the direction they choose to go with other shows). It worked with Miami, OC, and it's working now

finally a post i can (mostly!) agree with!! i do feel somewhat bad for Garcelle in the sense that you could tell through the course of this reunion she realized Sutton was never gonna ride for her the way she rode for Sutton, that's gotta be hard but (and this is where our disagreement will begin :toofunny3:) at the end of the day that's on her for hitching her wagon to that deep fried haunted grandma looking heifer. i also still just don't think Garcelle was ever able to really able to articulate her actual thoughts directly too the women, and it came back to bite her that she was so confident in her confessionals but seemed to shrink during in person confrontations.

i do also agree though that unless they bring someone on that truly gets Erika active and isn't afraid to call her bluff, she's useless on the show at this point. i want for there to be 2-3 messy newbies that can really get in the mud and drag Erika, Dorit and Kyle the way they deserve to be .. Garcelle and Sutton had multiple seasons and were never truly up to the task. i think that's the reason why i never connected with Garcelle: she had so much potential to be a great housewife but it never really materialized for me. to each their own! my apologies if i've ever gotten too heated with u in this thread housewives is like sports for me

as for ATL i'm caught up and i just … what Kenya did was wrong, sure (though not by any stretch the worst thing a housewife has done, not even the most fireable offense when other women have kept their job for doing worse) but you can already tell from that "peace brunch" that Brit came into it thinking she was in charge now and untouchable since she essentially got one of the most iconic housewives of the franchise booted from the show… talking about "this day is about ME" .. and then there's this in the preview from next week

i don't know how it's not obvious to EVERYONE that she's clearly the problem. saying Angela was "hiding in the clothes" in her confessional then saying she tried to give her a hug and acting uppity and questioning her motives. you are not the queen of RHOA hunnie !! she wonders why she's never been able to have many women friends … how could u when u act that way ?! Angela is one of my faves so far she always stays classy but isn't afraid to whack when necessary. Shamea's great too, and i like Kelli but am a bit weary of her. Porsha a complete nonevent, Drew …. is still Drew :toofunny3: gorgeous but useless

I still don't get how Garcellle was the victim during this reunion? She literally wanted a pity party. The heat was soo mild:deadbanana: 99% of the housewives in any franchise have it way worse and they are not running away like that.

She's exactly like LVP, weak. She can't handle it any time she is confronted about the things she did/said, and has now run away. Their delusional stans are proclaiming that she is the greatest housewife ever and won in the end because she has all these other jobs and is RICH *****, but it's just objectively not true.

Compare her to people like Kenya, Teresa, Bethenny, Vicki and Tamra, that all took on the ENTIRE cast (and sometimes the husbands) over much worse ****, yet they still showed up, answered the questions, and fought like their lives depended on it.

Brit is 100% a problem and it was obvious to everyone, which is why Kenya didn't even have to pull the stunt she did. She was already digging her own grave.

What makes what Kenya did so bad is the fact that it was premeditated and just an unreasonable response. Brit's pistol comments were out of line and similarly an unreasonable response to Kenya's "shady" behavior, but you can tell that was an in the heat of the moment comment. Kenya "paying her dust" like she actually did when she ignored her/her flowers was enough to continue letting Brit dig her own grave. Blowing up images of her cast member sucking dick to show to a room of people who didn't even consent to see that (let alone the implications of Brit obviously not consenting for those to be displayed) is just gross, there's really no other way around it.

I doubt that for most people that if someone at work threatens you in any way or fashion, your reaction will be to expose their intimate moments. It was just a dumb move on her part but Bravo should have taken appropriate action when they found out about Brit's threat initially, 100%.
