mellenthin Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Also, trailers need to stop being a thing.

Then expanding on the creature/person made it goofy real quick. Old guy backstory felt forced and didn’t really inspire any “oh wow oh wow” moments. Horror hype is give or take though. Hoping Pearl is as good as y’all say

Barbarian is probably the best trailer we got since Hereditary. Both were really able to conceal the gaggy parts whereas most trailers use those as a selling point instead ruining the scenes for us when we watch the actual movie.

Just watched the Barbarian trailer, and it really did its best to not reveal anything - compared to majority of movies. BUT I still think it reveals too much. It somewhat gives away that the focus turns out to not be on Keith, but on the house (and its underground area) instead. But I don't know and won't know what someone who hasn't watched the movie beforehand deduces from having watched the trailer when they watch the movie. Either way, trailers BEGONE! Those trailers are misleading but in the best possible way.
Kid A Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 2/3rds of Barbarian is great. still good but would’ve been top 3 of the year if it had a stronger final act. Pearl, Scream & Bodies(x3) remain unbothered.

James_Dean Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 Barbarian... first 40 were a slay, lost me in the slow middle section and couldn't reel me back in till the last 10. The film was over when this king died tbh! Also, not me feeling sorry for the Mama Monster thing right before the got shot and killed
popmusicisdead Posted October 26, 2022 Posted October 26, 2022 glad some people here is seeing Barbarian for what it really is. it was a good fun watch but it was definitely overhyped.
