Good release, but a bit overhyped.

Lighthouse is cute, but I don't care for it as much as others do.

Having recently found God, self-effacing young nurse Maud arrives at a plush home to care for Amanda,

a hedonistic dancer left frail from a chronic illness. When a chance encounter with a former colleague throws up hints of a dark past,

it becomes clear there is more to sweet Maud than meets the eye.

Dr. Steven Murphy is a renowned cardiovascular surgeon who presides over a spotless household with his wife and two children.

Lurking at the margins of his idyllic suburban existence is Martin, a fatherless teen who insinuates himself into the doctor’s life in gradually unsettling ways.

Saint Maud deserves more, but still solid placement. The last scene alone ( and its terrifying implications ) challenges so many movies here ( especially known top 10 colleagues ). Direct, gradual, sharp, thriller mode constantly all in function of crooked blind faith and human nature.

The Lighthouse has acting and scene going on for it, but nothing inducing or consequential.

The Killing of Sacred Deer is convoluted revenge plot for no reason to be this bizarre.

Green Room is okay, but I would also recommend VFW for those who enjoy Green Room.

Talk to Me hopefully picks up thriller/horror punch even more in the sequel.

Another example of recency bias. This should only be a cute top 15 but not top 10.

This micro-sized victory is giving:

#4 - pop

#15 - all genres

Surprised it made it so high with how slow it is.

No one putting The Eternal Daughter and/or Into the Forest on their lists. :rip:
While I don’t care for Into the Forest like that, The Eternal Daughter executes eerie atmosphere better than many movies here.

Night Swim was terrible! I thought it was gonna be so bad it's good but it's just laughably bad :skull:

I feel bad for Oscar nominee Kerry Condon

I watched The Collector and thought it was alright, but then I watched The Collection and that one is so much fun lmao. It's more nonsensical than the first one, but at least it has way more replay value

Killing of a Sacred Deer is kinda just a worse Safe (1995) to me

Why does Gen Z love paranormal films so much? They're unrealistic.

Trapped on her family’s isolated farm, Pearl must tend to her ailing father under the bitter and overbearing watch of her devout mother.

Lusting for a glamorous life like she’s seen in the movies, Pearl’s ambitions, temptations, and repressions all collide,

in the stunning, technicolor-inspired origin story of X’s iconic villain.
