I was at the cinema tonight and a teaser for Night Swim came on and it looked good? Hadn't heard much about it and now I've researched it, I'm perched. :lakitu:

Watched the first two episodes of 'House of Usher' and I love it, especially the second episode that ends with a bang, the pilot is definitely not enough to judge, first and second episodes combined would work better as pilot, however I can see why some people didn't like it, it's very 'Successions' on steroids mixed with 'Painkiller', it's definitely more adult drama oriented (a win for me) but it still has horror-supernatural elements, excellent premises so far.

Mike Flanagan is keep washing Ryan Murphy.

Totally Killer was actually cute. Incredibly stupid and lacking any logic, the jokes were beyond tired but somehow it made me laugh.

Watched Talk to me and Totally Killer a few days ago. i like both of them. enjoyed the Totally Killer a lot. Even tho there is probably movies that done with this concept i really like enjoyed the Totally killer. Talk to me i was expecting it to be little scary but as people here said it wasn't scary at all. still good horror movie for this era.

Yall have me HYPED. I don't even consider Ryan Murphey horror. He's more black comedy. And yes, he is WASHED indeed.

I've been watching the Friday the 13th movies this month and here are my thoughts so far:

Part 1: Betsy Palmer was a joy to watch as Mrs. Voorhees. Her and the guy who portrayed crazy man Ralph were the highlights of the movie. The final girl was extremely bland but the final jumpscare is very well executed. I just wish I wasn't spoiled by it.

Part 2: Probably my favorite one so far. Much better paced and the final girl was actually very clever. Jason's house was also a cool set.

Part 3: I was excited for this one since this is where Jason gets the iconic hockey mask, but this one took too long for the killings to start with a cast that either annoyed me for being too stereotyped or just stupid. Besides the fact that portraying Jason as kind of rapey on that dream sequence doesn't make any sense with the character, it even made me chuckle by how silly it looked. The 3D shots were also frustrating to look at and the final scene was just too ridiculous (even by the franchise's standards)

Part 4: I know this is a lot of people's favorite, but I wish there was more focus on Tommy and his sister in the middle of the movie than the group of teens with no personality whatsoever (besides Crispin Glover I guess).

Part 5: Apparently this one is very disliked but this was probably my second favorite so far. If this had more actual Jason Voorhees and a few more well made killings, this could be a fan favorite. The redneck mom and the enchiladas scene had me screaming :bibliahh:

I'll probably watch the rest of the franchise this year. Part 6 seems to be fun and campy and I'm very curious about the remake because some people seem to love it more than any other part, while some others think it's unnecessary

Hey girls! Long time no speak! My life has been a mess and I haven’t watched a single horror movie in 2023. I want to feel like myself so what’s the top recommendations for this year!! Last movie I watched was Speak no Evil and Barbarian! LOVED speak no evil. Looking for more realistic horror like a could happen to anyone type thing! But will take any suggestions! :gaycat5:

edit: More context to my taste… really liked Barbarian. Smile was cute.  Prefer that overwhelming feeling of dread type horror

No One Will Save You is cute. :bird:

I thought the aliens look a bit cheap in up close shots. And I also didn’t mind that there was no dialogue. Enjoyable.

She's the least talented of the Flanagan troupe, I'll give you that. She was great in Hush though.
