Give her the Oscar already That said, while it’s a good movie i don’t think it’s necessarily better than X. With X there’s a lot more creepy and surprised factor considering Spoiler We don’t know anything about the old couple. Tho there’s suspense, it gathers more towards the final third and since Spoiler The movie did a great job making us sympathize with Pearl, it sorta took away some of the scare elements compared to X. All in all, it’s a great horror film with a different approach than the first one, as it favours the psychological aspect rather than slasher. A 8.5/10 for me. TrueBlood Posted November 20, 2022 Share Posted November 20, 2022 Just saw Barbarian yesterday. I had a lot of expectations given some of the acclaim I read online, but it left me a bit disappointed. It starts off really solid (and Bill is SOOO hot), but then it starts inserting different elements and they barely make sense all together. I mean, I can see why they're related of course, but they also feel at times very forced to tie together. And as the movie progresses, things go progressively worse.
